We had something like this happen to us in London. Went shopping at Harrod’s, arranged for purchases to be shipped to us in Wisconsin, popped in for lunch at the Harrod’s coffee shop. We talked and talked, coffee’d and coffee’d (good coffee!) until they shooed us out at 2PM. Lunch tab came to 70 Pounds, about $120 US. No bottomless cup at Harrod’s in 1998, probably none now.
