Back in the ’70’s, my father decided to buy a trash collection service, as he had cousins that had a route, which pulled in good money. Of course, he needed “cheap labor,” so, my brother, and I got “conscripted,” to ride the back of the truck, and do the trash pickups (both mid-teens).I can honestly say, that even riding the back of the truck in Winter was infinitely better for that job, than Summer, as the “aromas” were kept down, because of the cold.The warmer months, on the other hand, were not times I enjoyed, doing that.
