Last summer it hit 118F/47.8C here and remained so for several days. The next door neighbor’s A/C went out. We offered to let them stay with us until the A/C was fixed, but they declined and stayed in the easy bake oven that was their home.
My father was traveling salesman in South Carolina in 1946 driving a 1939 Pontiac (no AC) staying in hotels (no AC) in mid-summer (temps 95-100) wearing a coat and tie! And yet he survived!
