    Since it takes at least 3-4 years to get to full tooling and production we will leave weapons manufacturing continuously at wartime levels. It is easier to be in a state of war or provide weapons for others than to start and stop production in spits and sputters. The tax laws are in place and revenues are stable and flowing. It would be too hard for the common man to relearn tax law and adapt to changing, unknown, and unstable budgeting from year to year.

    Most people have wildly inaccurate ideas about how much money goes to what programs.

    I would love for all my dollars to go to NASA

    Also, if we actually fully funded the IRS the current tax laws would bring in billions from rich folks who know they aren’t going to be audited on a regular basis. If I recall correctly, the IRS makes something like $10.00 for every dollar it gets in funding
