So here is how I read the cave drawings. First, a woman is berating 2 men (her mate and teenage son perhaps?) that there is no food for the infant. Second, she orders the 2 men to go out hunting. Third, we see the 2 men hunting. So what is the punch line? Humankind had not evolved to the level of having punch line.
I am not familiar with the “Krazy Kat” strip where they are lighting a bomb with a cigar. Perhaps it is twist on “Ignatz” and his ubiquitous “brick” from “Kolin Kelley’s” brick works? Mr. Lemon of course draws the current “Alley Oop” and “Little Oop” strips.
