Out camping one time the dog tried to bring in a ten-foot stick but was stymied by two trees six feet apart – WHOMP!
They’re going to great lengths to find the answer.
The Haitians in Ohio must have the wider sliding glass doors.
The Ulm sparrow (Ulmer Spätzle) knew the answer how to get the thing thtough the hole in the wall ;-) (For those who are not aware of the tale: there is a Wikipedia artikle which explains it.)
Better get it inside quickly before someone decides to eat you or shoot you.

Extra exasperating when its a really ‘good’ stick you’ve dragged home a long distance.
This is basically a canine IQ test. Smart dogs can figure it out and get the stick through. And then there’s the ones in this comic.
Turn them vertically. Problem solved.
I don’t know about dogs, but my Hereford steer knows enough to slightly tilt his head get his horns past the manger’s posts.
