Lived in CO many years ago. Had a homemade kite that stood 5’ tall. Used twine for line. Yeah, baby. Worse part was reeling it all in….

wndrwrthg, he could pull it off in Nebraska, our tornado sirens went off because at one point our wind got going faster than 90mph, there was no tornado. They say in Nebraska if the wind’s not blowing we all fall over lol

tried to beat the height my neighbours kite was by stealing thread from Mom’s sewing machine. My kite was half way across town when I gave up. 2 hours to reel it all back in, and she never said a thing about the missing thread. sweet days of youth…
