Happy at last get back to the jokes!

Ok I have a theory. It seems Garfield May have mono phobia (phobia of being alone) and Garfield always says how depressed he is (I’m not surprised if he is as he shows sometimes symptoms) we never see Garfield’s past but he does share how him relatives have lived their lives and seems like the usually passed. My theory is that Garfield, when he was much younger never really got attention as you see he does a lot of things to get attention and he later on became very lonely and sad (causing the mono phobia and depression) and this dream is just showing both of these and how it would be like him when he was younger again and doesn’t want to relive those moments but still gets reminders of them like in a Sunday strip (yes I know usually they don’t have continuity) he makes Arlene mad at him thus making her leave and Garfield says “I like myself when you’re around.” I understand they are dating (I hear they are) but it shows he is upset, also in another comic (not a Sunday strip) Garfield says he only climbs tree where he gets stuck in them for attention and finally Jon probably knows of his phobia and depression so he takes him everywhere but not Odie (usually people take dogs everywhere) he even take Garfield to dates. Thanks for reading this theory and I know it’s stupid to have a dark theory about a cartoon comic cat that loves lasagna but hey whatever.

So, I have a theory about this strip that I haven’t seen from anyone else.Garfield is immortal, albeit with long, unavoidable hibernations. Jon and Odie and the rest existed, and the events seen in the strips before this week happened. However, during his latest cycle, Jon and the cast all died. Garfield couldn’t stand to be alone, so he imagined the events of the strips after this one as a self-defense measure while he gathers the will to move on and find a new family.This could have even been his first true hibernation, thus explaining his genuine fear and confusion.

But them being there is… imagination

so this ends here, which means that the entire Garfield canon from here on out Jon and Odie do not actually exist, therefor all of Garfield is canonically “square root of minus Garfield”

actually, in the garfield show, there was an episode where he saw he world without him and jon was rich

Realistic Garfield ended – let’s get back to the Garfield we all know and love.

Just read this whole storyline in the middle of the night, and it’s messing with my head. x_x;;; Poor Garfield! What a nightmare! Was this a thing for Halloween? Because it’s definitely on the darker end of things..

this is probably the most depressing garfield comic.
