I actually knew a guy who’s wife didn’t have a license, but if they were driving long distance and he was tired, he would close his eyes and she would steer from the passenger seat… I have no idea how they made it to old age!
Years ago, on my way to a Detroit Lions Game, I started falling asleep at the wheel halfway there. I live on the west side of Michigan, driving 3 hours to get there. A policeman pulled me over for speeding and weaving a little. He was very nice…told me to walk around a bit, get woke up, made sure I was good to go before he left. No ticket, just making sure I was ok.
A good response from the driver would be, “That’s because she never shuts up long enough to let me get any sleep.” The cop will let him go with nothing more than a warning (and a sympathetic smile).

When I die I want to go quietly in my sleep, like grandpa… not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car!
