Break out the slides, Ralph!!

and I had to run the bases uphill through three feet of snow

I walked a mile to school and back, uphill both ways!

You need to remember how that works, Ralph. It’s handy to get rid of that crew so you can enjoy the game.

And a big baseball fan came up to Ralph with tears in his eyes . . .

I played organized baseball for 3 years, and in all that time, I never played on a field with an outfield fence. The Championship game of the 3rd year was the only one that had dugouts, but no fence. I remember one field, (with lights!), that had a left field that went down a hill! Lots of homers over there… ☺
