Dewey doesn’t seem to realize that he is just baying the same old books he donated a couple of years ago.
Hopefully there are no yard sales on the way back home.

Happens to me at the Habitat for Humanity store. I’ll be at the door for making donations while my wife is inside buying stuff.
The vicious cycle also works with old bicycles.
No, it’s just capitalism. In older, simpler times, you would have bartered them for books from literate friends.
I look at it as passing on the wealth. Books are treasures, to be read again and again. I shop a used bookstore and then donate the books I’m done with to the v.a. It’s amazing the thirst for knowledge there is out there.
