Ah … I love ‘breaking the panel’ in a comic, but doing it in a interesting way. And Chip you rock at it.

I remember Tumbleweeds shouting at Ryan, thus acknowleging his existence, but I don’t recall ever seeing him in a strip. Of course, Weeds ended in ‘07 too.
Didn’t Opus also have an “awareness” of Breathed towards the end of that run?

Frank Cho used to draw himself as a Chimp in Liberty Meadows, and Bud Grace draws himself regularly in Piranha Club.

Big Al the Gal did appear and interact with the characters in Neurotica when she changed the format and they didn’t like the new way they were drawn.
