Record discs came AFTER the light bulb.

at least the stones never recorded on 78’s

Prior to that, performers had to come to your house and sing at you.

And now the new generation is into records.

Vinyl is back in again. People are clamoring for the vintage records. They must like the tick, tick, tick sound as the needle hits a scratch on every revolution.

The phonograph was invented in 1877 and the incandescent light bulb in 1879, so this is sort of correct, although vinyl discs were not until later.

I thought the lightbulb came first so the inventor got the idea for recording because there was a lightbulb shining above his head.

My parents had a collection of 78s and some were unlabeled so I played the. Turns out they were dirty jokes and erotic short stories. Mom!

He didn’t set any records.

My Dad hired me to transfer all his old 78s because of how fragile they were (he’d already lost some to breakage). I must admit, I heard some pretty good music, as he was really into Swing. However, what was it I transferred them to? Reel-to-Reel Tape, which didn’t last much longer after that… ☺

The invention of recording device came 55 years after the first light bulb.
