Reminds me of the old joke…“They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian. Well, now I am a comedian, and no-one’s laughing now…”

This actually happened to me before. When I was in kindergarten, my classmates were making fun of me, and I said When I become President, you will be sorry for making fun of me. And they said sure we will, and I said “That didn’t turn out as I suspected”. The irony about this, is that I said this before I had ever seen this comic strip before!
