I don’t know if it’s intentional, but I like the fact that the frame on the wall in this drawing is empty, since this one was supposedly done years before he did “Black Lion Wharf” (which appears in the much more famous “remake”)
It’s interesting to think that at some point in their life, every great artist (including Mr. Bliss) probably drew like this and then got better as they matured and practiced. I’d love to see what Mrs. DaVinci put on her refrigerator.
