I had the Intellivision, and a slew of games for it. I recall the Atari to be pretty good competition for it. Mattel didn’t know what it was getting into. To this day, I find it remarkable how much programming they could put into a couple of k of memory. Don’t I see you lurking over at Pibgorn too?

From a professional point of view, Intellivision was worse. Atari actually has a worse graphics system, but it was easier to program.

I remember when the first Atari came out it had an input where you write SIMPLE Programs in BASIC like the American flag and triangles and circles….
Today’s Laptop computer would be equivalent to the CRAY 1 super computer back then….
