Yeah, I think it’s defintiely part of the vernacular, especially when describing someone who is regurgitating political dogma as “opinion”—that one is really “drinking the Kool-Aid”.
And the current housing crisis has its roots in the late ’70s-early ’80s era due to the massive uptick in remodeling-related mortgage debt taken on by homeowners whose walls were destroyed by the Kool-Aid guy.
