Doctor Toon,
Long Island Sound was a great place to observe the races and with the sub base just up the coast, there might have actually been one sliding by at any time.
The ‘63 Impala definitely had it all over the Vega for maneuvering room.
Hey, some of us could only afford a Vega wagon in those days. And the only thing you could trade a used Vega for was another used Vega. The first was the two-door wagon, the second was a red GT. When you revved it up and popped the clutch, nothing happened. We finally traded it in for A Subaru wagon, but we sure didn’t get much for it. I’m not sure we didn’t have to pay them to take it.

Wow! It took her all those years and a class reunion to realize what Dallas did to her at Cupid Point in his Vega Love-Wagon. That’s Amazing.
Why would anyone even get into a Vega. That’s a total lack of self-esteem right there.

Mine was a ‘54 Chevy Bel Air. It’s slowness was exceeded only by its ugliness. But tons of room inside for a party, if you could talk her into it.

So that’s the key to being a successful rogue: Novocaine in just the right places, and keeping an eye on where her knee is. 8)

The best venue for submarine race watching was in the back of a ‘51 Pontiac hearse I had in the mid ’60s. It sure rode smooth too.
