What big multiday rockin’ music festival doesn’t have room for a Polka Day? I have not heard of Jerry and the Albuquerque Fatboys, however….

I’d like a polka day, thank you very much, polka is great exercise!

It was “Albuquerque” that threw Opus off. If had been Jerry Zuchmeister and the “Milwaukee” Fat Boys it would have screamed polka right away. If Milwaukee has an overabundance of anything it’s definitely obese people and polkas.

Personally, I’d have preferred “Whoopee John” Wilfahrt, and of course so would John, since he’s dead.

Living in a Hispanic neighborhood in CA, I get to listen to polka all the time. Yeah, they call it “mariachi” – but it’s still polka.

No offense to the polka enthusiasts, but i think that I will pass on that particular day of the festival.

Def Leppard…Heavy Metal? I beg to differ, they were more of a Pop-Rock kinda band.

Oh yesss, they were very big here in the 80s. Of course, we called ‘em the City Council back then, but they were quite good at blowing hot air and making a discordant ruckus!

Where’s Billy and the Boingers?!?!? I still have their concert poster from when they played Albuquerque!

I am a serious connoisseur of rock music, and I refuse to attend unless The Monkees will be performing.

Re: rayannina If it’s in 4 & has an accordian & a tuba, It’s Polka. Mexican Polka ain’t bad. Most current music is in 4, you could Polka to it.
