If we were having global warming I’d be out in the sun, enjoying the day. Instead I’ll be shoveling snow out from around the car. A little global warming wouldn’t bother me a bit.
Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this “sun” of York;
And all the clouds that lour’d upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried.
The fault, dear Ray C, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves and that we deny truth because
it makes us uncomfortable, and attempt to use a temporary blip in the data to deny a long term trend. If our actions have no effect why shouldn’t we just cut down every tree in sight? Maybe our actions DO have an effect? Then why deny.
Logicman: Your logic attacks a straw man. I never said that our actions have no effect.
My complaint is about the global warming advocates declaring that they have “proved” that warming is man-caused, but they refuse to show how they have come to this conclusion. A model of global weather that is hidden from peer review is very suspicious. Especially when its predictions fail in the short term.
Silencing critics and ad-hominen attacks on them rather than answering them is not how science is done..
We’re risking our entire economy on unproven models. If the models were accurate, my home would now be under water. It’s still half a mile from the shore, just like it was forty years ago.
And not only that, but if Cap and Tax passes we’ll cripple our manufacturing in the U.S. and we’ll all be paying double for our home heating and electricity while other countries continue to pollute at the same levels leaving our actions moot.
Speaking of Teddy Bears: do you know most of them come from China and are made by 8-year-old girls under forced-labor conditions…
and don’t get me started on the transfats in cookies and the childhood obesity they cause .
Peanuts…allergies. Need I say more?

Yeah, our weather report says this week will see a sharp drop in temperature and the first measurable snow, too. Sigh!

Your small locality is not the globe. Climate change is not about the weather.

“Climate change is not about the weather.” True. It’s mostly about politics and control. And emails. More to come. Stay tuned…

I get the feeling that the people posting here would be set off by anything; a cookie, a teddy bear, a handful of peanuts, anything.

Childhood obesity is caused less by the foods kids eat and more by the sedentary lives they tend to lead now.
Edit for my wandering brain’s ineptitude. Thanks Sherlock.

MisngNOLA: I think you meant to say “sedentary” (sitting), not “sentient” (intelligent).
