20 years later and the Cubbies are still the lovable non-winners.

The last time the Cubs appeared in the World Series, brewwitch, was in 1945. The last time they won the World Series was in 1908….

I feel sorry for Cub fans, but hey, Boston ain’t exactly got the pennant in the bag either. Last night I watched the Sox go down in defeat and learned a few choice words for the umpire. Still I will proudly wear my Boston shirt in a town that is halfway to evil NY. People smile, shake their heads.

Being a Lions fan is almost as tough. Unlike Chicago and Boston, I see absolutely no hope in sight, however.

Try being a Vikings fan! Even with the best (in his mind anyway) QB in history they still can’t go all the way.

if you wind something and you want to experience it anew…. you rewind…..you know like when you wind your clock or watch…. no? uh….ok , to clarify that more…when your 8MM movie is playing on the projector and runs out, you have to rewind it to get it back on it’s original reel……uh….

    ok, nevermind!….. nobody rewinds anymore

That’s an interesting lead-in to a Scrubs game – although I have to admit that Alfonso Soriano kind of looks like a penguin in his batting stance…

Was Ron Cey with the Cubs back then? He ran like a penguin. They even called him “The Penguin”.

Rewind - Archaic term associated with various recording media (films, filmstrips, video and audio-tape of various formats, etc.). Brings the media back to the starting position.

Opposite of fast-forward, typically without any input. Also typically at a much higher rate than fast forward settings. Also similar in function to re-setting digital media.

    Pre-90’s techno-geek to post-90 techno-geek translation.

So who won the game – the penguins or the Cubs?

I’m so happy VCR’s are a relic of the past. With a DVR the only risk you run is filling up the hard drive & seeing previous recordings getting dropped before getting a chance to watch them

Penguins are good athletes. They are great at sliding…and for the soccer fans, they are great at diving.
