C’mon, goComics. Require posters to type in a graphic of random letters like comics.com does. That will stop this spamming in its tracks. It only take about 10 seconds longer for one of us to post, but the spammers should be stymied.
Unless these guys are paying you to let them do this…
I think the spammer would have to do each comic individually, typing in 5 or 6 letters each time. The text that you type in is not the same for each comic, or even twice for the same comic. That would be much, much slower than simply pasting in the spam.
On the other hand, creating a new ID for every day would be a once-a-day effort. I don’t think that would take as long as typing a bunch of letters each time.

Count on good ol’ Greenpeace to come through with something appropriate.

I wonder what PETA will say about this.
Wait a minute, that’s PETA. Who cares what they say?
My bad.

Of course, if there was no media pack to pander to, there would be no Greenpeace. Biggest publicity whores extant.

The more difficult posting process would slow some down so much the trivial wouldn’t get posted.!?.!?

Unfortunately, the herds are bigger than ever. If Greenpeace really wants air-time they need to kidnap an upper middle class blonde teen female.

Typing in random letters/numbers wouldn’t stop the spammers. That would be the only typing they would have to do. The spam itself is cut and paste.
Now if they required us to register our IDs and contact info, that would slow it down, since the spammer would have to create a new ID for every day.

It’s not EVERYday that we get to have a glimpse of Utopia, now, huh?
