A minor technicality, heh?! Opus is lucky: the courts are set up to enforce the law (meaning statute and precedent) rather than justice (which might in Opus’s case find room for a little vigilante oliveloafing).
They probably didn’t say his weapon was capable of killing. I remember one case down in TX where the defense attorney tried to get the case dismissed because the indictment did’t specify that the victim drowned in water.

The “Minor Technicalities” were invented to temper justice when going by the rules is too cruel.
