The casinos only benefit a few very small tribes lucky to be near large urban areas. Mast native casinos are small “rob Peter to pay Paul” operations providing little or no economic benefit to the tribe.
Tax free tobacco and gambling ‘establishments’ are just two of the ways the natives can ‘get back’ at those who did them in, but they are pretty weak ‘paybacks’. But really, at this point, most of the immigrant population came long after the natives were killed off or relegated to reservations, so what is the ‘collective guilt’ thing? I certainly didn’t have any relatives on the mayflower! At that point, the elite was doing its best to work over my peasant ancestors through exploitation too. Maybe I should be angling to get reparations for the labor my ancestors provided without compensation, or those who died in the black death? :o
Of course the English just let the Irish starve to death, even as they took more than enough grain from the island to care for everyone. What a mess, Darwinism allowing secular people to label them as ‘excess population’ and let them die - the Catholic Church prohibiting them from practicing birth control… Of course what of them as could came here and displaced the red man…
