    Now instead of the American military industrial complex, we pay all our money to failed social programs. And so it goes.

    We’re still paying a goodly sum to the military-industrial complex. I know, since I used to work there.

    The biggest piece of the pie still goes to the Pentagon. But yeah, don’t let the truth get in the way of your beliefs.

    National security and defense make up around 19% of the Federal Budget.

    Social Security around 22%.

    Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP around 21%.

    So-called “Safety Net” programs around 12%.

    Federal Employee and Veterans Benefits 7%.

    Interest on the Federal Debt around 6%.

    All others around 13%.

    I wonder what the human race is gonna do once we screw up the enviorment too badly for it to be fixed, I doubt we’ll perfect space travel before it happens.
