Oddly enough, it reminds me of a “Cosby Show” episode, where Cliff and Claire are on the couch, watching a nature show—which happened to be about praying mantises.

At first, the narrator was describing how the male “seduces” the female by rubbing it’s legs, and Cliff turns and leers at Claire, starts rubbing his legs, and Claire coyly smiles. They get closer as the narrator talks more about the mating.

Then the narrator glibly talks about the female ripping the head of the male and starts eating it. The TV image is unseen, but Cliff, like Opus above in the strip, is shocked and desperately wants to turn the channel, but Claire busts out laughing and keeps the remote. Poor Cliff shrivels as Claire just ENJOYS the rest.

Hilarious!
