I’m a college professor, and I have a great admiration for the cartoonists — Kovaleski among them — who manage day after day to come up with a new twist on life to provide a chuckle — or some insight into the human condition. My job is easy compared to theirs. Long Live Cartoons!!
I understand that E. C. Segar got the same comments when he was doing Popeye. He’d sit in a bar and someone would ask him his profession. Despite the fact he was paid very well for it, nobody would believe him.
