Hello all. I find it unusual to understand that people have a difficult time grasping onto the concept of people getting together on a great comic strip and just reveling in the fact that people can have a good time and become friends through conversation and listening to another person’s opinion and respecting it. Life is about trust and some people believe in trust and others try to bypass it. I love Big Top and the friends that I have made here. Everyone is welcome, you can do here what you wish, but if you want friendship you have to approach people with an open heart and an attitude that is accepting. Everyone can post and everyone has a choice as to whether they want to answer a post or move on. It is a shame if you do not see the benefits of making friends.
And since we’ve said that, and it’s JFri’s fault I’m first, and he slipped out the back door, what should I feed the hungry multitude, which so far is just me and you!! LOL!
Scrambled eggs with green and red peppers, onions, and monterey jack cheese mixed in, Canadian bacon, Jimmy Dean sausage links, pancakes with Vermont maple syrup, fresh blueberries and honeydew melon, and for drinks, Choclate milk, V8 , cranberry juice, apple juice, Earl Grey tea, doc’s coffee,
Carmy What do you mean, “Bless you”? My post posted late, after biggs I didn;t think my breakfast sounded so bad, although *biggs sounds better! Hey I was caught off guard!! I went to the page and saw ZERO comments and KNEW I was in trouble!!! ROFLMAO
Carmy Yea yea! I said I was caught off guard, and the reason was becasue SOMEONE (who will remain nameless) was supposed to be here! . Figure out who it is yet? ROFLMAO!!

LOVE YOU GUYS!!
Alright I’m off to Zzzzzzzzzzland also and I’ll only say it once and not come back to comment again only to have to say good night again. Well you all know what I mean.
Good Morning, from the Enchanted Meadows just of us here to Yukonneric, Akenta, Joy, MoPar, Tabby, Marg,
TerryLonewolf, Carmy, our newest member Dora Dingle, and of course my dear cousin Josh.
Good Morning too from south Florida! It’s the start of the Labor Day weekend, also known as the unoffical end of summer. Of couse, we all know it ends 2 weeks from this coming Tuesday. But if you live anywhere south of Florida, summer has no end to which I’m gald I left Arizona eight years ago and came here!
Good Morning all. For all of you working Tribe members, I know how much a 3 day break from work means, so I hope that you all relax, party, get wild, read a book, take a hike, or in general, just do what makes you happy.
Cleo–I want to get a couple of things done here at the house and out in the garage. I’m going to do them early so that I’m free for the party. Yesterday/last night asked why your party did not go over well???!
Thanks for the hugs, and I forgot to thank *bigg and cleo for helping with breakfast, and I guess I should thank JFri** too for his tiny contribution! :-D
Pirate (sad) sighting over at Pearls Before Swine!
By the way, I had to laugh–a local paper told us (in the main head) that “Belfield moose sightings continue”. I just wonder: (1) Who put the moose at that site, and (2) How did they get them to stay?
Hi Tribe
RL has been keeping me busy this week, so I haven’t been able to visit. Going to try a bit of “catch up” this morning, but I only have about an hour and a half, so I’ll just see how far I get. Will pop in and out to see what’s happening here, but it looks like I missed something between Wed. morning and now. I haven’t looked at yesterday, but by number of comments I probably won’t. Back soon.
spent the last (wow, almost an hour!) catching up on posts from yesterday and after i left the day before. i’m glad i started slowly on this strip’s comments. not that i’m shy, but i don’t like to push my way into a group that seems to know each other well (and that description fits the tribe). i’m glad to have been accepted by you all, and actually miss reading your commentary. next few comments will be brief and in regard to a couple of things read in the last day and a half.
last time i was on, here, something was mentioned about Peytoe Lake being beautiful, and Picassa being a good place to share photos. i haven’t had a chance to check that out yet, but i’ve put one of my photos of Peytoe Lake up as my avatar, as mentioned at that time.
as for parties, i will remember Mo Par’s birthday because it’s also a day that matters in my RL (though not as happy a one). my birthday has passed. it was August 10 but i felt too new here at the time to mention it (and didn’t want to be asking people i’d just “met” to have a party for me. besides. it meant i would have had to clean the place again! (housework is not my strongest suit)
time to try the toonland tour. won’t have much time tomorrow as it’s my niece’s 13th birthday. (i’m her godfather as well, and she loves me dearly, so, i couldn’t possibly let her down.) i’ll be around as much as i can, and hope to check in again before i get ready for work today. if not, peace and good feelings to everyone.
and hugs for carmy, terry, and especially dry.
In the Midwest, Labor Day weekend is considered to be the last gasp of summer, and people take to the highways deperately seeking one last nice weekend for camping or boating. Unfortunately, the weather does not always cooperate.
Yguy Happy belated b’day! Hope it was a great one. We would have had a super party had we known. Next year!
Dry I promise that if I get back I will remind you to go to bed early. Now what is that? 2:00 am your time?
RMom, I cannot for the life of me see a problem on the last page. I read with every possible connotation - unless it was a description of DocT’s coffee.
Marg, I did get some sleep, in fact I overslept. It’s okay, just got a late start on my errands.
Doc, glad you had some fun with your honey and family too.
BTW in Canada, the Labour Day weekend is much the same as in the States - a last wild ride before winter sets in. Dora, I envy you although I am in the best place in Canada - Vancouver Island. We only get a week or so of rain and November is the rainy month.
Dawn - Thanks for looking! I’ve decided I’ll just post the “1” as our code that I can’t see that page. Then, if anyone posts something on that page that they want me to see, they’ll know why I missed it. Otherwise, life is too short to let those little things ruin my day.
I’m happy to get to see all of you for a bit this morning.
Dawn, I left you a chocolate bar.
RRAMom, the ice cream flavors are: Double Strawberry, chocolate, and Banana Split. It’s Blue Bunny ice cream, so it’s very tasty.
Now, RL beckons, so I’ll probably be back much later. Have a good day, All.
thanks for the belated birthday greetings, though that isn’t why i mentioned it. and DawnAvril, it is a good day every year. the one time when i get my whole family together at my place for a big visit. i live in a condo apartment and i usually wind up visiting them, but the yearly stress of getting the place uncluttered enough for company is worth it.
that said, RL is intruding once again! time to get ready for work. i’m still behind on crosswords and the comics i read on another site, so i’ll probably return around midnight EST.
She isn’t able to access her gocomics and asked me to relay her message.
She also said I should help wake up Doc. So let me know when the times comes around for that.
Terry you STILL haven’t told me how to do that! And yeah, I’m slow, what do you expect! I haven’t stayed until 2AM just for fun since I was, several years younger!
Time for wink to hunt down Dusty. You know with all this internet buzz about the chupacabra going on, I’ve seen the photos and all I can say is, that is no way a creature of myth. To me it is nothing more than a Mexican hairless dog, I’m not sure what the breed is called.
ladywolf They had something similar on MonsterQuest this week, and the so-called experts think it may be a new mutated form of monkey (if I recall correctly). Of course, it’s MonsterQuest, how reliable can it be? We were only watching to kill time until something else came on. It was interesting, though.
I don’t get around to watching T.V. that much, and probably won’t come Monday with school starting followed by work immediately afterwards. I’m lucky if I can even catch the news.
bmonk Mmmm… We need a beach party this weekend! Dig a hole in the sand, steam seafood in it… set up chairs and blankets… One of my favorite places I want to get back to is Ogunquit, Maine. I went there as part of a sidetrip out of Boston almost 30 years ago, and always wanted to go back. Heck, now’s the time!
bmonk
Ever read “A Canticle for Leibowitz”? You could be 1200 years ahead of your time!
You shine, my brilliant friend, you shine!! (Please put a head covering on, it’s hurting my eyes… LOL! EDIT - or maybe it’s your shining personality!!))
bye the way i am home. i just have two boys, a parking ticket, book recpits to find and orginize, and a very loud movie playing. ill be back when i can. love to the tribe.
Just dropping in to put my deposit in the bank. Not sure how much I’ll be on tonight. Probably be a big party night - I always seem to miss those. Hope everyone has a good time.
It was supposed to be a gray, rainy day . instead it was sunny and beautiful. We went to a country nursery, to a resort town for a lovely seafood lunch, an organic lamb & beef farm and home to sit on the deck in the waning sunlight. I love these “rainy” days.
Well, I am sitting in front of my fire pit drink in hand and rocking out. I thought somebody said party!!
Oh well, I am having fun.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arpZ3fCwDEw&feature=channel#
This is a laid back group tonight. Somebody sounded like they wanted to party. I have been trying to light a fire under this group, but so far … no luck. Where are you MoPar?
Terry - Finally somebody is ready to party. I have been trying to get something going for several songs now. A double Patron and a little Roy Rogers to go with it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rZVz3O47yo#
And Terry covering your mouth so as not to laugh? Better use duct tape, that fixes EVERYTHING, don’t ’ cha know! From the Red Green fix it Encyclopedia!
Mopar - I don’t know about the van. I drove it home yesterday, parked it in the garage, and haven’t messed with it. I’m hoping with a 3-day weekend my hubby will have time to look it over at least, but I know better than to ask him to do stuff on Friday evening that can wait until Saturday. Especially when he helped me with a different problem this afternoon.
I’ve found it a necessity to have at least one spare vehicle, since my hubby usually does the work on ours, which means it sits between the time it breaks or he tears it apart, and the time it takes to get the replacement part & install it. With all of our vehicles having more than 100K, and most having 200K+, it isn’t unusual to have one needing repair.
Terry & MoPar - This is going to slow things up a bit but I wanted you both to hear these two flamenco guitarists who have decided to play covers of heavy metal songs.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0CsLefLisE#
Okay guys, YOU HAVE TO STOP THIS! I already have like a WHOLE LOT OF SONGS to download, and you are reminding me of songs I have forgotten, like Pipeline! I hate to check out the other links! Geez!! Cut me a break here!
But, my wife and I have been burning our way through the dvd’s of the first year of “House”. I am amazed at how many times my wife figures out the ailment of the week. She is good.
Hail Hail Rock and Roll! Does that make us old farts or what? But you know what, my 23 year old loves this stuff! He has a wide range of music inerests but this is one of them. He even has Simon and Garfunkel and the Beatles! I understand the younger generation is getting into the “OLD FOGEY” stuff!!
And my youngest is into Dave Matthews and U2.
And I meant to say earlier, we need to FLAG *TERRY! Somehow I think he found JFri’s secret rum stash!! (AND NO, JFri, I DID NOT TELL HIM WHERE IT WAS, I SWEAR!!!)**
Cleo I love the new music. I love the Fray, Green Day, Cold Play, and a host of others! I like all kinds of music, except twangy country which I have said before. And I love jazz! and Benny Goodman, etc. The Commodores, Barry White, White Knight, the Bee Gees, Quincy Jones. Ever hear his Body Heat CD? LOVE THAT!
Dry - I too am into jazz, like Chet Baker, Miles Davis, John Pizzarelli, Diana Krall. I like the blues too. In fact I met my wife at an outdoor blues festival in the middle of Robbin Ford’s set.
Ah yes the streak. I remember the time when my cousin and her mom were visiting. This was during the 70’s and I was around 19 to 21. My cousin encouraged me to streak through the living room in front of my mom and her sister, which of course I did without hesitation. Maybe that was the start of my illustrious life as a person sans clothes. :-)
I am off for a while to watch the tail end of a movie we started last night. If I see you when I get back .. groovy. If not, I have had a fine time hangin’ with my friends.
hi tribe! i decided to do a quick check in while at work, since i’ve hit a lull and have less than an hour to go until quitting time. i see the party has started but, being at work, i can’t access any of the links and will have to listen (if i have time) once i get home. enjoy, (and i’ll catch up again in about an hour).
a quick aside to MoPar. My brother and sister in law were originally planning to marry on Sept 5th because it exactly half way between their respective birthdays. They didn’t, but their daughter was born on that date 2 years after they did tie the knot. just thought it was an interesting coincidence.
back later.
I leave you with a little cajun. I visited this bar 2 winters ago. It is in Mamou, LA and is only open on Saturday mornings from 9am - 2pm. It is called Fred’s Lounge.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIrni43iZjg#
The coolest thing about the Strawberry Mt. rock festival was seeing the Small Faces. Rod Stewart was the vocal and Ron Wood was on lead guitar. i was right up at the front of the stage and actually shared my hot chocolate with Ron Wood.
*I may check back later, but I have a busy day tmr. and I DID stay up until 2Am yesterday, so I may be back or not!
In which case,” I’ll see ‘ya when I see ‘ya”!*P & L
After one more Barry White song on You Tube!
MoPar - To bad that you are not here we could actually be sitting in front of my fire pit smoking a cigar, having a drink and shooting the breeze with music in the background. I guess this is as close as it will get. It is amazing what technology has done and where it has taken us. I am friends with people that I really care about, yet have never met and never actually spoken to. Amazing isn’t it?
I am in Georgia. Grew up in VA, moved to TN, then GA, then FL, then back to GA. I have had the great privilege of travelling extensively, though, and that’s what brings up the Wasington story, but it is too late for it now, so stay tuned.
That’s what we call “a hook” in radio. It is supposed to keep you coming back. So, there.
Actually my wife and I will be in Virginia on September 16th. She is a real history buff and particularly Thomas Jefferson.
We will be spending a week just north of Monticello, another week In Williamsburg, 3 days in WA dc, and a couple of days in Middlesburg or Middlesbury, VA. We are looking forward to it.
I was born in Lexington Virginia but lived in Charlottesville for about 32 years. One of the houses we lived in for a while I could look out the back door and see Monticello.
I was just shouting out in case Terry was still with us, but he seems to be gone.
I wish I could sit by the fire with you cleo and tell you and your bride stories about VA and Jefferson. I could go on for days, although you may not want to listen that long, but it would indeed be fun.
I am sure you will have a great time there. You will not travel down a single street that I haven’t done something on. Some of it I should not even talk about.
I worked in the Biomedical Engineering department at the University Hospital. I was able to take some classes there because I was an employee, but did not graduate there. I also worked for the athletic department for years and got to see a lot of great sports and met some great people from all over the world.
My wife is a Jeffersonian admirer. I am not sure if you are familiar with a fellow by the name of Clay Jenkinson. He is a scholar from North Dakota but becomes Jefferson, Theodore Rosevelt and Oppenheimer. He will sit and answer questions as if he were one of the three men. He is particularly known for his take on Jefferson. He will answer questions on Jefferson both during his lifetime and how he would react to what is going on in the world today. We went to the University of WA and listened to his lecture. Very informative and interesting.
And now ladies and gentlemen, for your listening pleasure, one of ,strike one of, *THE BEST piece of music ever written, in my humble opinion, by the MUSIC MAESTRO,**
Barry White has always been the music one plays when love making is on one’s mind. I hardly think that anyone is going to play the greatest quotes of “The Tribe” when in an amorous mood.
Dry - Are you happy with your choice of facilities for your dad? It is tough making such decisions, but all you can do is analyze the situation and make your best guess. I am sure that you did your due diligence. You can only do what you can do and not dwell on whether you did enough. You are a good daughter and whatever decisions that you have made have had a good heart behind them.

yyyguy - Good Morning. Dern RL always interferes with everything doesn’t it. LOL
bmonk about 15 years ago
Hey, what’s this RL or “real life” you guys talk about??
Saucy1121 Premium Member about 15 years ago
Good morning folks. As an audiologist, I’ve seen many odd things in ears, but never a family of hermit crabs.
yyyguy about 15 years ago
must have big ears! (or small crabs!)
yyyguy about 15 years ago
spent the last (wow, almost an hour!) catching up on posts from yesterday and after i left the day before. i’m glad i started slowly on this strip’s comments. not that i’m shy, but i don’t like to push my way into a group that seems to know each other well (and that description fits the tribe). i’m glad to have been accepted by you all, and actually miss reading your commentary. next few comments will be brief and in regard to a couple of things read in the last day and a half.
yyyguy about 15 years ago
last time i was on, here, something was mentioned about Peytoe Lake being beautiful, and Picassa being a good place to share photos. i haven’t had a chance to check that out yet, but i’ve put one of my photos of Peytoe Lake up as my avatar, as mentioned at that time.
yyyguy about 15 years ago
as for parties, i will remember Mo Par’s birthday because it’s also a day that matters in my RL (though not as happy a one). my birthday has passed. it was August 10 but i felt too new here at the time to mention it (and didn’t want to be asking people i’d just “met” to have a party for me. besides. it meant i would have had to clean the place again! (housework is not my strongest suit)
yyyguy about 15 years ago
time to try the toonland tour. won’t have much time tomorrow as it’s my niece’s 13th birthday. (i’m her godfather as well, and she loves me dearly, so, i couldn’t possibly let her down.) i’ll be around as much as i can, and hope to check in again before i get ready for work today. if not, peace and good feelings to everyone. and hugs for carmy, terry, and especially dry.

A very happy belated birthday to you!margueritem about 15 years ago
In the Midwest, Labor Day weekend is considered to be the last gasp of summer, and people take to the highways deperately seeking one last nice weekend for camping or boating. Unfortunately, the weather does not always cooperate.

carmy about 15 years ago
Happy belated Birthday, yyyguy! **and a Happy Birthday to your niece on her 13th!!

Wishing everyone a safe, fun and/or productive weekend. And those who aren’t off work…don’t labor too hard.
P&L, all!margueritem about 15 years ago
Good morning Carmy. I hope you got some sleep last night.
margueritem about 15 years ago
And Doc, it’s rare that I’m on the same time as you are. Glad to read that you had a good day yesterday.
Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago
Morning, tribe!
Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago
Doc - I was reminded of your coffee this morning. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/comics/crankshaft.html
DawnAvril about 15 years ago
Again a good morning to all the Tribe!
I read with every possible connotation - unless it was a description of DocT’s coffee.
carmy about 15 years ago
Marg, I did get some sleep, in fact I overslept. It’s okay, just got a late start on my errands. Doc, glad you had some fun with your honey and family too.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Doctor Toon - Girlfriends man, they turn a guys world topsy-turvey. Get used to it my friend, it’s worth it.
DawnAvril about 15 years ago
BTW in Canada, the Labour Day weekend is much the same as in the States - a last wild ride before winter sets in. Dora, I envy you although I am in the best place in Canada - Vancouver Island. We only get a week or so of rain and November is the rainy month.
Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago
Dawn - Thanks for looking! I’ve decided I’ll just post the “1” as our code that I can’t see that page. Then, if anyone posts something on that page that they want me to see, they’ll know why I missed it. Otherwise, life is too short to let those little things ruin my day.
Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago
I wondered if the problem on page 2 had to do with someone catching bigg’s typo - leaving the “e” off, when he probably meant pulling out of here.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
DoctorT - Work, one of man’s worst creations.
margueritem about 15 years ago
I’m happy to get to see all of you for a bit this morning. Dawn, I left you a chocolate bar. RRAMom, the ice cream flavors are: Double Strawberry, chocolate, and Banana Split. It’s Blue Bunny ice cream, so it’s very tasty.
Now, RL beckons, so I’ll probably be back much later. Have a good day, All.
DawnAvril about 15 years ago
Marg,
Thank you **Yummmmmmmmmm…Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago
Marg - Thanks! Blue Bunny is delicious ice cream!
yyyguy about 15 years ago
thanks for the belated birthday greetings, though that isn’t why i mentioned it. and DawnAvril, it is a good day every year. the one time when i get my whole family together at my place for a big visit. i live in a condo apartment and i usually wind up visiting them, but the yearly stress of getting the place uncluttered enough for company is worth it.
yyyguy about 15 years ago
that said, RL is intruding once again! time to get ready for work. i’m still behind on crosswords and the comics i read on another site, so i’ll probably return around midnight EST.
consider it a warning if you must.
dpetrill about 15 years ago

COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Hey all; I’m taking a break from RL. Just a few minutes though. Don’t want to be catching up on a lot of posts during the party time!!
Yguy–If you’re still here Belated Happy Birthday wishes to you! If not I’ll tell ya later!

Good morning, everyone. How are you all?
dpetrill about 15 years ago
Requin At first I thought your picture was of the old Upstart Crow himself! LOL!
carmy about 15 years ago
Dry, are you going to give that hug from Doc to Shika?
I had to leave suddenly earlier. Communication problems had me rushing out the door to pick up daughter #1 from school.
I’m am SO looking forward to this weekend!
Requin about 15 years ago
Ma’at LOL!
bmonk about 15 years ago
@ladywolf, Wink may be out of the hole, but he’s still got some nasty crabs in his ears…
dpetrill about 15 years ago
bmonk …better than somewhere else…
(oh my… did I say that?)
ladywolf17 about 15 years ago
Time for wink to hunt down Dusty. You know with all this internet buzz about the chupacabra going on, I’ve seen the photos and all I can say is, that is no way a creature of myth. To me it is nothing more than a Mexican hairless dog, I’m not sure what the breed is called.
dpetrill about 15 years ago
ladywolf They had something similar on MonsterQuest this week, and the so-called experts think it may be a new mutated form of monkey (if I recall correctly). Of course, it’s MonsterQuest, how reliable can it be? We were only watching to kill time until something else came on. It was interesting, though.
ladywolf17 about 15 years ago
I don’t get around to watching T.V. that much, and probably won’t come Monday with school starting followed by work immediately afterwards. I’m lucky if I can even catch the news.
bmonk about 15 years ago
@Ma’at, yes you did. I wouldn’t know, never having had ear crabs or any other kind.
Except for soft-shell crabs in Maryland a couple of times…
dpetrill about 15 years ago
bmonk Mmmm… We need a beach party this weekend! Dig a hole in the sand, steam seafood in it… set up chairs and blankets… One of my favorite places I want to get back to is Ogunquit, Maine. I went there as part of a sidetrip out of Boston almost 30 years ago, and always wanted to go back. Heck, now’s the time!
bmonk about 15 years ago
@Ma’at, are you saying I’m brilliant even when I don’t know it? LOL
Sometimes I think I’m either three years ahead of the curve–or ten behind.
Others just think I’m about 1200 years behind the times.
carmy about 15 years ago
I’m supposed to help with the Doc wake-up, per Shika’s instructions. Will someone remind me when that will be, please?
bmonk about 15 years ago
@Carmy, isn’t it as soon as possible? ;-)
dpetrill about 15 years ago
bmonk Ever read “A Canticle for Leibowitz”? You could be 1200 years ahead of your time! You shine, my brilliant friend, you shine!! (Please put a head covering on, it’s hurting my eyes… LOL! EDIT - or maybe it’s your shining personality!!))
carmy about 15 years ago
bmonk, no, I don’t think it will be for awhile yet.
bmonk about 15 years ago
But can we practice now??
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago

It was supposed to be a gray, rainy day . instead it was sunny and beautiful. We went to a country nursery, to a resort town for a lovely seafood lunch, an organic lamb & beef farm and home to sit on the deck in the waning sunlight. I love these “rainy” days.

Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago
Hi Lonewolf! We’ve got enough vehicles in our family, that we’ve always got a “spare” to drive, so the van is just sitting for now.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
RRAmom–Sounds like here. We have three drivers and 6 choices to drive!! Love it!
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Here is a very dated video but a very good duet of guitar virtuosos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWw55XhTehg&feature=fvw#
Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago
I’ve found it a necessity to have at least one spare vehicle, since my hubby usually does the work on ours, which means it sits between the time it breaks or he tears it apart, and the time it takes to get the replacement part & install it. With all of our vehicles having more than 100K, and most having 200K+, it isn’t unusual to have one needing repair.
cleokaya about 15 years ago

Ah yes the streak. I remember the time when my cousin and her mom were visiting. This was during the 70’s and I was around 19 to 21. My cousin encouraged me to streak through the living room in front of my mom and her sister, which of course I did without hesitation. Maybe that was the start of my illustrious life as a person sans clothes. :-)

yyyguy about 15 years ago
hi tribe! i decided to do a quick check in while at work, since i’ve hit a lull and have less than an hour to go until quitting time. i see the party has started but, being at work, i can’t access any of the links and will have to listen (if i have time) once i get home. enjoy, (and i’ll catch up again in about an hour). a quick aside to MoPar. My brother and sister in law were originally planning to marry on Sept 5th because it exactly half way between their respective birthdays. They didn’t, but their daughter was born on that date 2 years after they did tie the knot. just thought it was an interesting coincidence. back later.

Hey MoPar - I saw Quicksilver in Mission, BC at a rock festival called Strawberry Mt.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
The coolest thing about the Strawberry Mt. rock festival was seeing the Small Faces. Rod Stewart was the vocal and Ron Wood was on lead guitar. i was right up at the front of the stage and actually shared my hot chocolate with Ron Wood.

Amazing isn’t it?

cleokaya about 15 years ago
Yes MoPar I would like to hear it. Now, you live in Georgia, am I correct?
SGIBeachbum about 15 years ago
good night tabby
SGIBeachbum about 15 years ago

SGIBeachbum about 15 years ago
I was born in Lexington Virginia but lived in Charlottesville for about 32 years. One of the houses we lived in for a while I could look out the back door and see Monticello.
SGIBeachbum about 15 years ago
I spent 10 years at the University of VA, or as we call it, Mr. Jefferson’s University

I guess we aren’t doing too badly for such a small group. I just noticed we are up to 338 comments.

LITTLE HELP HERE!ladywolf17 about 15 years ago
I just wanted to say hi to everyone here before I check out for the night.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
What help do you need you are keeping the count up just fine. LOL
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Ten years. Were you a teacher at the University of VA, or just a dedicated student, or LOL a student that just couldn’t get through the program. :-)
SGIBeachbum about 15 years ago
I was just shouting out in case Terry was still with us, but he seems to be gone.
I wish I could sit by the fire with you cleo and tell you and your bride stories about VA and Jefferson. I could go on for days, although you may not want to listen that long, but it would indeed be fun.
I am sure you will have a great time there. You will not travel down a single street that I haven’t done something on. Some of it I should not even talk about.
(Never been arrested)

Dry- Is that the theme to Fantasy Island? Hey, I am glad that you are up, but didn’t you want someone to tell you to go to bed if you stayed up late?
cleokaya about 15 years ago
No, it is the theme to the Love Boat.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Dry - Are you just not sleepy, or are you stressed out about your dad?

CLEO
:-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P
Don’t mess with me dude!!! I will defend Barry White to the upteenth degree, he ranks right up there with THE TRIBE!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
Cleo I’m getting sleepy, and you know the answer to the second half of the question, my friend!
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Barry White has always been the music one plays when love making is on one’s mind. I hardly think that anyone is going to play the greatest quotes of “The Tribe” when in an amorous mood.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Well, come to think of it, maybe some of the peanut gallery would consider our words amorous, or so it seems. Bizarre as that may be.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
Cleo ROFLMAO!
Yes Barry was great for the mood!!
Have you checked your e since around 5:30 or so my time?
I am going to sleep now, well I’m going to lie on my mattress, at least! GOodnight buddy!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
Yes MoPar YOU DONE GOOD by me! Goodnight!
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Dry - Are you happy with your choice of facilities for your dad? It is tough making such decisions, but all you can do is analyze the situation and make your best guess. I am sure that you did your due diligence. You can only do what you can do and not dwell on whether you did enough. You are a good daughter and whatever decisions that you have made have had a good heart behind them.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Dry - Yes I have and have a good sleep. Forget your worries for the night and just drift into a trouble free relaxed sleep.
See you in the morning.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Okay JFri, it is time for you to come out of the woodwork for a snifter of Bookers.
