LONEWOLF How good it is too come back after a day of grumbling to see such an appetizing breakfast. However, just as I was making up my mind over the delicious assortment, LUVH8’S inspired suggestion caught my eye. I would love some NUCLEAR CHOCOLATE PIE that is if you have the culinary expertise to make it. Not that I doubt your cooking ability for a second, but I think LUVH8 does.

Morning TRIBE! Sorry ‘bout yesterday but somehow I forgot that the end of the rainbow is BIG TOP.

Soggy morning, tribe! Cleo - What did you do? We’ve got more rain here than we need! Guess up by KC they got a lot too, according to this news story: Flash floods and storms are wreaking havoc in Johnson County tonight, cutting down communication, closing roadways and prompting a water rescue — of a fountain. After 5 p.m. this evening callers reported a small car submerged in water in the area of Roe Avenue and Tomahawk Creek Parkway, across the street from the Town Center Plaza. When divers went in for the rescue they discovered that the two small lights shining through the water came from a fountain that callers had forgotten was there.

Hi, Grog! - They’re thinking the rain may end this afternoon. The river that our house overlooks is predicted to rise above flood stage today. But that happens frequently, so not really that big of a deal. A few roads get closed, some fields have temporary rivers, but nothing horrible.

Good morning all. We here to have a lot of rain. Our street flooded but we have drain down the street. Before we bought the place two years ago we asked the Realtor about flooding and since this is a bi-level the lower level showed no signs of ever being flooded. All a small ditch compared to the big ditch. I think the small ditch drains into the big ditch and the city keeps cleared. Rmom from the sever thunderstorms your way did you lose power there at your location? Here we did. Day before 1 1/2 during the night. And yesterday 1 hour.

Grog - I try to get battery backup for all our clocks. Cuts down on that problem, but of course, that’s not always possible to get. Our house thermostat’s clock does okay for those split-second interruptions. But for anything longer, I have to reset the day & time, or else it goes to their pre-set defaults, which Doc would like, but freeze me! With a laptop computer, the short power interruptions aren’t too bad. But my sons’ desktop computers aren’t happy when that happens.

Rmom I think the reason city of Wichita wants to move the Riverfest to June not sure when rain and school being out so more kids can go. They lost a lot on attendance in past and this past Riverfest. Us here we don’t go. Well I have sorta different news here. You knew what I let you know about my surgery when was in April now therapy is almost over and getting to the joint in my shoulder. Now my husband has his turn he is 64 our primary sent him to a heart specialist 2 or 3 years ago well next Thurs. gonna be a long day for both of us he receives his first heart catheterization using dye. Only two hospitals does this one in Wichita the other in Andover. Wichita is Galihca

Kab - I’m surprised St. Francis or Wesley doesn’t do those. Maybe the heart docs that did that all switched to the new hospitals. I think the heart doc that did my Dad’s at St. Francis went to Galichia. I’ve never been in the Andover hospital, although I’ve driven past it.

DocT I guess the arc is coming to an end on A@H but it has been fun. Don’t think I’ll try the mouthwash though. I want to keep my teeth. LilG asked me this morning what I thought of making an easy 500 dollars. I said, “Doing What?” Apparently there are a group of road cyclists that are riding through from Portland and need a place for ten cyclists to spend the night and they are willing to sleep on the floor, plus a catering service will provide a gourmet meal. I said sure, why not. We aren’t sure if it is going to happen yet, somebody could have responded before us.

Terry it is raining and gray. Does that answer your question? I have a friend that is from San Diego, but lives just ten miles from me. He hates gray rainy northwest days and longs to be back in San Diego. He gets very depressed with the days we have been getting, especially when they become a regular day to day experience. LilG called his wife today on a business matter and asked how things were going and was told “not…well…at…all” So, I called this afternoon and left a message inviting them to dinner this weekend.

Looked at the gouges in the driveway caused by the torrential rain last night, and tried to figure out how to drive out without damaging the car until we can get them filled in. Had to stop and remove Osage Orange thorns from the Crocs I was wearing. Climbed back up the stairs (2nd floor) and rested in the recliner until my bp came back up to normal. Opened & read the mail. It was pretty nice weather, so no incentive to rush.

♠Lonewolf♠, read this paragraph, from the review, which I find highly insulting - especially since I find soccer to be a snooze and Rugby to outclass it by a country mile.

In this remake of 1974’s ‘The Longest Yard’, the V-Man plays Danny “Mean Machine” Meehan, the one-time England football captain now serving time for drunken assault on a couple of policemen. The film’s already got one-up on the original version (which had Burt Reynolds in the lead), thanks to its decision to replace American football with a proper sport. But it does little else to alter the formula of a picture which was fairly well-received Stateside, if relatively unknown on these shores.

I wouldn’t watch this if it was the last film on Earth. I’d rather go to a Attack Of the Killer Tomatoes marathon.

Oddly enough, I didn’t get to see those episodes, Carmy He doesn’t ring a bell - and I haven’t seen the show in such a long time.

At a game between Montreal and Toronto, a spectator suddenly found himself in the thick of dozens of flying bottles. “There’s nothing to worry about, lad,” said the elderly chap siting next to him. ” It’s like the bombs during the war. You won’t get hit unless the bottle’s got your name on it.” “That’s just what I’m worried about,” said the fan. “My name’s Johnny Walker”.

No, it wasn’t Carmy, but his method of saving a cat was unconventional (using a plane to stop an oncoming truck)and once he had another emergency to deal with he tossed the cat aside. He saves a Bishop or something and gets an emergency during his flight. He then parks the guy on his @ss on top of a pointed peak. OUCH! End part 1.

Grog maybe the reason I never got tired of the Simpsons is that since I have no TV I only get to see it on occasion. I know that when we travel and have a motel or condo with TV I lose my patience very quickly since suddenly commercials have become super annoying. It’s funny when you are used to it how everything seems normal, but once seperated from TV the annoying aspects seem to be very much in the forefront.

As a kid the very first sport that I took an interest in was professional wrestling, which in reality isn’t really a sport at all. But when I was young I didn’t know that and loved to watch wrestlers like Dutch Savitch, Gene Kiniski and Gorgeous George. Well just a few weeks back Gene Kiniski died in a town less than 30 miles from here. He was huge in professional wrestling and a Canadian and I thought that he was pretty cool. The thing is, once he retired he lived just a few miles north of me and I never realized it until I read his obituary. I would have liked to have told him how much I appreciated his influence on me. Entertainment is what it is whether real or perceived.
