Another eventful day…. got an extension on my inventory… so I’ve been here almost 3 hours already…. but not anywhere near a computer.

toon comment - if he played faster he could get in 54 over a weekend.
I don’t play well, but I play fast… they rename the game when I’m on the course…they just spell it backwards…
Good morning all Ladywolf work hard and pass those finals then enjoy summer while working. Here is everyone coffee not as good as Doc nuclear but close. Tomorrow is the big test for my husband, we have to be there 5:30am leave here at 5am.
Grog, they have a nice miniature golf course on Padre Island in Corpus Christi. It’s probably still there. BTW, thank you for saying that Corpus is NOT the armpit of Texas. My youngest daughter was born there and I have many good friends there too.
That was sweet, Doc. I don’t remember doing anything cool like that with my grandfathers. One was a rancher and the other was a carpenter. My GF that was a carpenter did make lots of cool stuff though. He raised rabbits too and named them after his grandchildren.
Grats on the work hours Doc. Now it’ll be easier to give us your toon schedule.
Sounds like a lot of fun with your grandpa. I wish I could’ve had that kind of time with mine.
Good Morning Rac and Saucy!Saucy, that’s a good idea. It will save you from trying to juggle work and appointments.
Grog, I don’t think I’ve been in the Pampa/Amarillo area. I’ll be sure to avoid now, thanks!
We were 1000 miles from my maternal side and my GF on Dads side I got to see on weekends when we went to help him on the farm. The man never took a vacation and we moved away before I was old enough to really know him.
He was a man of few words.
Hello again everyone. Doc my daughter and guy went to CO for vacation and believe it didn’t have to much fun with Tornado watches and rained most time they where there they came back early.
Tomorrow is the procedure for my husband Heart Cath and they just changed to 2 hours later. At least we don’t have to get up at 4:30am. This is his first one. I remember my dad had his first one in the 77 was there for 3 days. Times and medical and insurance has changed a lot of procedures. Depends on ones body.
I haven’t finished my toon tour either. I better get busy. My girls are all out of school for the summer and it’s been a madhouse here. I’ll be back when I can.
Have a great day, y’all!

Doc - DragonballZ and other Dragonball series were when they were older and not as good to me as the original plain Dragonball, but for me it was an easy escape fiction to watch.
@ Sojourner,Ah yes, DragonballZ! Brings back some nice memories, along with Tenchi Muyo, Cowboy Bebop, and the original Transformers cartoon show, which was written here and animated in Japan.
Good afternoon Fellow Baby, rac, Kab, bmonk, saucy.
Good afternoon, Grog, Dry, Rac, bmonk, Sojourner, Luv, Kab, Carmy, Saucy & anyone I missed!Saucy - You might want to check with the places you expect to make appointments, to see if your day off will correspond when they are available. With homeschooling 11 months or so a year, we’ve been doing a 4-day week for many years. When we took Mondays off, it worked well for appointments. When we switched to Fridays off instead (mostly due to the college schedule for the oldest son), I found it more difficult to get appointments always scheduled for that day. And of course, you’ve got to make allowances for emergencies, or at least urgent needs. However, it still works fairly well for us, since we live out in the country.
It is impossible, under any circumstances, to have all of either the laundry or dishes done at any given time.
I am convinced that dirty clothes and dishes are able to hide extra-dimensionally only to reappear when the job is otherwise considered done.
Another theory: the dirty dishes (or clothes) that reappear are seed, to maintain the continuity of things that need cleaning in the house; if everything were ever perfectly clean, you’d have to move out or the house would burn down or something, because nobody can live in a perfect home.
Bmonk and Doctor Toon and anyone else There was a picture in our local paper once of a man washing dishes at a car wash. The reporter interviewed him and found out that he had bought a lot of dishes at places like Goodwill. Once a month he dumped all of his dirty dihes in the back of his pick-up truck, took them to the car wash, put them all on the pavement in the car was and hosed them off. He said that way he only had to do dishes once a month!!!!!
Not to be a contrarian, but I have to place the armpit of Texas about halfway between Monahans and Fort Stockton on Texas Highway 18. The name of the town is Grand Falls, and it is not grand, nor are there falls. Its primary claim to fame is the size and ferocity of its flies.

Ah, flies. I suppose the worst place for them, in my experience, was Sigonella, Sicily. Big, fat slow things. I was deployed there in the Navy at the time, and the various aircraft maintenance shops began killing and collecting them in a hidous, bizarre contest of sorts, seeing who could accumulate the most. It deteriorated rapidly, however; they tended to decompose rapidly, making them hard to count with any accuracy. We tried measuring them by weight, but they tended to dry out over time, making them lighter. We had no means of refrigerating them, because the rules required that the collection could not leave the shop, so the odor eventually became intolerable, and the 1st Lieutenant made us throw them away. Tragic.
Just stopping by to let you know that I am thinking of you all. My hip pain is a pain int the a$$, so I am making myself useful in the kitchen. I am not in pain when standing, just sitting. So I have made black beans, Orange, Chocolate and Walnut biscotti and am about to make chicken stock. Tonight we have Brazilian Black Beans with tortillas and salsa. I also got a walk in which felt good, but sitting is not so good. Carry on.
Ah, and home. The fence contractor has made progress today; the gap between my yard and the backyard neighbor is closed, and the gap between mine and the side neighbor’s yard is a mere two panels wide. The front is still open, but he’s left some lovely orange net-like-material in the space, supported by an up-ended wheel barrow and a couple of shovels. And I was worried.
An e-mail from the insurance agent; he recommends a million dollars in liability insurance, now that we have the pool. Pshaw….done, and done.
I can make pickled watermelon rind from the rest…we’re having a Father’s Day whatnot Sunday, so if I collect all those rinds, I can make a couple of quarts…hmm…
Miley is the daughter of a country artist, and has demonstrated a propensity for being, shall we say, “age inappropriate” in her behaviour.
Her music is categorized as “pop”, and she’s quite popular with the paparazzi. A recent photograph, which I have not seen, is purported to have captured her exiting a limousine in a rather unladylike manner and demonstrating a lack of undergarments.
I’ve been having connection problems again. Had to call for service. Someone will hopefully come in the morning. I may blink out again, so don’t be surprised if I just disappear.
Fellow Baby just be grateful you don’t have to CALL someone on the phone for tech assistance and get Chris from India or Pakistan giving you directions!!!
A bit of historical insight may be helpful regarding the end of the song….Russian prisoners of war were considered traitors, and assigned to labor camps. Most died without seeing their families, who often were interned as well because their fathers were, well, traitors.
Fellow Baby, he may not have been from India, but I suspect he was from somewhere overseas. He didn’t sound like he was native to anywhere in North America.
Very good song, Hymenoxis and thank you for the clarification. My three specialties for historical accuracy are WWII, The Korean War and The Vietnam War.
Sorry I popped out. My mother called. She was telling me about a movie she was watching and how it reminds her of my brother and I. Just one of those “memories” calls.
I’m pulling a Shika, thanks to my connection, but they’ve been talking about doing that for the past few seasons, ♠Lonewolf♠. I hope they don’t go that route. In as much as I like football, I’d never want it to last as long as the Hockey season.
Do you remember when the season was over by the end of April?

I just checked through some of the toon strips to see what is going on and what is not going on.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
How’s it going, Grog?
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
I have a fresh batch of towels with colorful tropical patterns, fruity drinks are available, and I think I’ve got a cantaloupe or two to butcher.
If you give me a half-hour, I can get a decent tomatillo salsa up and running as well.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Again Hy ROFLMAO!!! I just “butchered” a cantaloupe. Very good one!! Nice and sweet!
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
You are a great host, Hymenoxis! Thank you, sir.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
It’s getting to be that time of year, Dry. We’ll have cantaloupe guts all over the kitchen from now ‘til October.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Ooo…that reminds me…we’ve half a watermelon carcass in the fridge…
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
You’re quite welcome, Lone. Enjoy.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
I am enjoying it Hymenoxis. And laughing my tush off, too!

Good night, Carmy
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Speaking of tushes, please be advised I have two perfectly good restrooms indoors. The pool is NOT an acceptable substitute.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Howdy Fellow Baby!
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Are you working tonight, Doc?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Sorry I missed you Carmy! Have a nice nap!
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
No worries from me there, Hymenoxis. LOL
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Unfortunately, some things simply must be said.
And don’t blow your nose on my towels, either.
George Arnold over 14 years ago
hymenoxis I do have some dye you could put in the pool that only shows up around a guilty person, just in case.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Lovely tribute to Jimmy Dean over at the Doozies!
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
You are so funny, HY.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Hey Grog, you asked about the avatar earlier. How’s this?
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Sojourn-
The problem with that dye is rather like a monitor that tells you when you have died. It’s only useful after it’s no longer useful.
George Arnold over 14 years ago
Good point!
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Now, if you have an additive that causes extreme pain in small children who are thinking about peeing in my pool, I’m on board.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Oooooo, easy there Hymenoxis. :^)
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Okay, moderate discomfort. Jeez.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Heheh! Okay, that’s better!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Hi Doc!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Watermelon! Hy Is there enough for a little slice for me, please?
George Arnold over 14 years ago
Doc maybe your Nuclear Coffee could be used to come up with a product like that?
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Will we ever learn the the full extant of what it can do, Doc?
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Heheheh! Don’t we all, Doc?! That’s too much.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Dry-
A nice, crisp, red slice for you. A bit soft in the center, perhaps, but juicy and sweet.
Enjoy.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
I can make pickled watermelon rind from the rest…we’re having a Father’s Day whatnot Sunday, so if I collect all those rinds, I can make a couple of quarts…hmm…
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Now that sounds like a swell concoction, Hymenoxis!
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
A country music artist, Doc???
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Very sweet. thank you Hy!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Doc the one and only Miley Cyrus song I like is “The Climb”
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
I like the video, Doc.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Miley is the daughter of a country artist, and has demonstrated a propensity for being, shall we say, “age inappropriate” in her behaviour.
Her music is categorized as “pop”, and she’s quite popular with the paparazzi. A recent photograph, which I have not seen, is purported to have captured her exiting a limousine in a rather unladylike manner and demonstrating a lack of undergarments.
I have never been to Tulsa.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Doc, I’m not a big fan of Miley Cyrus, but she has several good songs that she has made a lot of money doing! You can’t argue with the stats!

I’ve been having connection problems again. Had to call for service. Someone will hopefully come in the morning. I may blink out again, so don’t be surprised if I just disappear.
Nice avatar ♠Lonewolf♠
Hey Fellow Baby
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Her father’s song “Some Gave All” is an excellent song, country or not! One of my faves.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Thank you very much, Grog. I like it!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Fellow Baby just be grateful you don’t have to CALL someone on the phone for tech assistance and get Chris from India or Pakistan giving you directions!!!
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Another good song regarding war is “Goodnight Saigon” by Billy Joel. Not particularly patriotic, but an excellent capsule of the soldier’s view.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
I know that one, too Hymenoxis. “Still In Saigon” by Charlie Daniels is another along those lines.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Hahaha, I’d like to see you with that mullet, Doc!
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
“Roads to Moscow” by Al Stewart is a seldom heard but excellent view of war and its aftermath, as well. Again, not patriotic, but insightful.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
I’ve never heard that one, but am listening to it now, Hy.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
A bit of historical insight may be helpful regarding the end of the song….Russian prisoners of war were considered traitors, and assigned to labor camps. Most died without seeing their families, who often were interned as well because their fathers were, well, traitors.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Doc-
I’m trying to get Wifey Bits to put on the #8 guide and just cut it all off. She refuses so far…
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Fellow Baby, he may not have been from India, but I suspect he was from somewhere overseas. He didn’t sound like he was native to anywhere in North America.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Only professionals touch my hair, guys!
Very good song, Hymenoxis and thank you for the clarification. My three specialties for historical accuracy are WWII, The Korean War and The Vietnam War.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Another favorite of mine, Doc.
How about any Chris Ledoux songs?
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Yes it is!
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Wifey Bits informs me that I must go swimming, regardless of street-side exposure.
Toodles, all and sundry.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
At this moment, it may take me days to look at them. And I wouldn’t check them out at the office.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Doc - Do you know this one?
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
I hope they get you fixed up tomorrow, Grog. That can be frustrating.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Fellow Baby last guy I had worked for Verizon of all places!!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
This reminds me all too much of my dial-up days. Ugh!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
My dial up days dealt with a local company and everyone spoke plain english!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Fellow Baby I know you aren’t a fan of James Caan, but Alien Nation is on now, always liked that movie!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Fellow Baby, I just finished watching Lucky Me Starring Doris Day, Robert Cummings & Phil Silvers. I enjoyed it very much.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Yesterday I saw Love Me Or Leave Me. I think cleo likes that one.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
I LOVE all Doris Day movies! They don’t run them much on TV anymore, not that I’ve seen, but I don’t watch a lot of tv anymore.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I remember seeing Calamity Jane on TCM. I bought it shortly thereafter. It was that good.
I can’t say I watch a lot of TV either, unless it’s TCM or FOOTBALL! I have plenty of movies and TV shows on tape/DVD I can watch.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Oh gee, you mentioning Calamity Jane brings back a memory from when I was about 13. Forgot all about it! Thanks Fellow Baby! It was a good memory!
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Sorry I popped out. My mother called. She was telling me about a movie she was watching and how it reminds her of my brother and I. Just one of those “memories” calls.
Have a good night Doc.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Speaking of football, they are talking about adding 2 more regular season games to the schedule!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Glad to be of service, Fellow Baby.
With that, I think I’ll call it a night. The yawns are coming much more frequently now.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Good night and sleep well, Grog. Catch you tomorrow.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I’m pulling a Shika, thanks to my connection, but they’ve been talking about doing that for the past few seasons, ♠Lonewolf♠. I hope they don’t go that route. In as much as I like football, I’d never want it to last as long as the Hockey season.
Do you remember when the season was over by the end of April?
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Yes, I do. But two more games? I just like football that much I guess. There might be too many injuries though!
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
You better get some sleep, my man!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Sleep well, Fellow Baby! We both have work tomorrow, eh?
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Kind of quiet all of a sudden. Where are you two ladies at? Yoo-hoo!
