Ziplock omelets: Two eggs in Ziplock close and squeeze. Add any of the following: Sautéed: mushrooms, red, yellow, orange bell peppers, onions; shredded cheese of many kinds, cooked bacon, sausage, ham. Lock bag, squeeze to mix, put bag in rolling, boiling water for thirteen minutes. No less, no more—13! Sliced Canadian Bacon, Ham, Sausage Patties, with Fried Eggs, Pouched Eggs, Soft Boiled Eggs, Scotch Eggs. Raisin Brand, other cereals by request Toast with Butter, Jelly, Honey, and/or Peanut Butter (Crunchy only, NO smooth) Tortillas, Challah, Focacia, Naan. Grits, Haggis, Scrapple, Mush *Misc. juices, cocoa, milk, teas, cider, Doc Toon’s World Famous Nuclear Coffee (I’ve enjoyed so many of your meals,, I thought it was time for me to pay back. If any of you ever get to Muncie, we’ll do some of this for real)

I see that there’s been another Nuclear Coffee “accident” and I’m still not sure what’s happened. Was there really an unobtanium failure or what? I’ll have to go back and check. Theoretically, that shouldn’t be possible…

But then, as my boss Chris Alan (below, in Today’s Avatar) keeps telling me, “There’s just no substitute for durin and duringlass.” Unobtanium? Phaugh! That’s still a physical substance. Durin and duringlass are metaphysical substances. Nuclear Coffee runs and hides in the presence of a lit Starblade like my boss carries, which is made of those meta-tech substances.

I am the proud owner of several durin and duringlass mugs, quite necessary for his CocoMocha - not because that worthy drink is corrosive, but as a nod to the degree and kind of power its creator wields. (Little Sister may be the most familiar with that, if she’s kept current with the reading.)

I’ve been setting my alarm to get me up at 6:00 AM rather than 7:00 AM, so my “Usual Time” is earlier these days.

One Usual Cup of Starbright’s Divine CocoMocha. In a duringlass mug, please.

Today’s Avatar Perforce: I just gave Master Chris Alan a ring and he says he’ll be over to help you folks clean up the mess left by the Nuclear Coffee. If he gets here in time even Doctor Toon will never realize what happened.

LuvH8 - I’ll see if I can find something to use. YES A NEW LAPTOP! My old laptop and desktop are about 9 years old and can’t run some programs I now have or updates to programs. They also lock up sometimes when having only 2 programs on and seem forever to get running again, sometimes 30-45 min. or more!

Hi, tribe! A never-before-in-our-family event just happened. My two sons left for school, and I’m home alone! The youngest starts college today, and the oldest has his 2nd day of classes. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I’ve been left alone at our home in the last 21 years since the oldest was born. No tears necessary - I just have to not cheer too much around my sons, as they aren’t thrilled about being out in the “cold, cruel world.”

Hi my name is LEW, I’m a coffee holic

When I was young I would dip my doughnut in my father’s coffee. Everyone thought it was cute. Soon I had my own cup which I liberally dosed with cream and sugar. By High School I could only be found in hippie coffee houses drinking leftist philosophy and liquid gold.

Too cool for school, too crafty for the drafty, I joined the Corps having heard of their java. It was heaven on earth, nobody ever cleaned or unplugged the pot. New grounds were dumped on old grinds and pour water in (real Marines don’t measure). The last pot I had the honor to serve hadn’t ceased production for one second since 1938.

Overlying the joy of my discharge were the mental and physical withdrawal symptoms. I considered re-enlistment, but settled on Betty Ford. By the time I left that institution, I was down to Maxwell House and jolt.

For thirty years I maintained a clean life. Oh, I may have snuck down Little Italy for a double espresso or two, but I had my problem under control till I entered THE BIG TOP

I met a DOC (and part time frozen food expert) who asked if I’d like to try a cup of NUCLEAR COFFEE. I resisted for days, then said “one couldn’t hurt” Within days I was searching for a 32 oz UNOBOBTANIUM* cup. Sleep, sex, reading, and whatever else was important in my life went out the window. The DOC kept promising a pipeline to my door but it never came. My house became a junk yard of broken coffee pots as I tried to make that magical substance that was my only reason for living.

I have been substance free for 4 days, 13 hours, 23 minutes and 56 seconds. Hey is that cup unobtainium?

LUVH8 I would never disparage Blondes, as long as they are not bubble headed bleach blondes.It just makes me wonder why blonde takes up three quarters of the dye aisle. Naturally dark roots I suppose. If these bleach blondes dyed their hair back they might gain artificial intelligence.

It’s because of oil and the economy–ND has the lowest rate of unemployment in the US. If it was divided E/W, West Dakota would likely be even lower.

But it’s not without it’s problems: roads are a real disaster with so many heavy trucks pounding them into the dirt, and there are more accidents. School buses are advised to pull off the road into a side road or driveway, because the oil truck ain’t gonna always stop.

Little Sister - Thanks, I heard that connecting a Windows 7 with a Windows XP network would be hard if not possible. Thought I would have to hard wire it until transfering programs from other computers and not using them. Had to find pass codes etc. but got it worked out with little trouble.

@Frankr: Apparently none of my stories on Triond or Blogger (let alone WordPress) are searchable, which likely explains why you couldn’t find “durin” or “duringlass” aside from the most recent reference here.

This page of one of my stories (for example) mention durin and duringlass as the materials out of which the hull of Chris Alan’s courier ship, the D.S.S. Hind of the Dawn, is made. The same story mentions his durin/duringlass Starblade, if memory serves.
