Question for some of you computer experts. Is there a different way one can type comments make fonts bigger without using ctrl key and mouse/scroll arrows to make screen bigger? Someone on another strip typed in caps, I know that’s a form of yelling, same way if say I use bold letters that’s also a form of shouting but I limited that. I know some are interested and I won’t say what each chapter is, on current Jr. book on psychology this has on nerves which effects me. I do promise not to talk about text. Now if I where to say have Algebra I would be asking how that works.

I have been using wordpad to cut and paste with but have found a utillity for copy and paste that is easy to use but you have to figure it out. It’s for Windows, is free, powerful, easy to use and can create folders to store things like names, url’s, etc and is fast and easy to search for what you want to paste. A lot easier and faster than using wordpad, I am getting it set up so I can forget wordpad for most things. It copies text photos etc. and can hold thousands of pastes if you set the program to. Get it here. Note: right click on an item to bring up a menu of what to do, perhaps due to other utilities I have running I usually need to do 2 fast right cliks or it exits. Double left clicking pastes your item. Cntl-c and ctrl-v work eith it but uses it instead of windows clipboard. Cntl-v continues to paste your last item, etc.

Two options off the top o’ ma head:

As Grog beat me to it: Cut and paste into Word or some other such program and save.

I just go back to posts up to “about 1 hour ago” and copy, then delete the extra stuff. Not as quick, but it works. Especially since the group changes by the day.

I’ll be off soon to a workshop until Thursday … don’t know when I’ll be able to catch up after that.

Hopeandjoy2 - You can create groups (folders) within groups. Create a gocomic group, put groups for names, photo url’s etc. in that group. It brings the last used to the top or you can just start to type. i.e. - “l” will bring up any name with “l” in it. Type “la” and you get ladyhawk, ladywolf, etc. even though you have ** in front and behine the name. Just double left click on the name you want and it puts it in. You can still copy and paste like always like it wasn’t there (although it stores all copies so you can re-paste what you want without re-copying). You can use shift and control to select multible items in it (like to delete a lot of copies you don’t want to keep. Select the folder icon in the lower left to show all your groups and double click on the one you want to work out of.

They cut some scenes…like the one with Bodanski charging charging through, Crew hitting him where it counts and everyone piling on two plays in a row.

Sojo - I’ve mowed on those type of days. You know it is windy when you plan the direction you mow based on which direction the wind is blowing, so you don’t get grass clippings in your face.

Sojo - As long as you can keep it out of your mouth & eyes, the rest can wait until you get inside & shower. I thought I’d be mowing more this summer, but I need to leave some work for my son to do, so he can earn some money. I had hoped he’d get a real job, so his earnings didn’t come out of my pocket, but it was better to pay him for mowing than to just give him money.

Wolfie - The compressor seems to have seized up, and now the engine won’t run. It is old enough, that I think my hubby will just disconnect the a/c, rather than buy a new compressor, if that will allow the car to run. Our oldest son drives it most of the time, he can sweat or buy his own car. At least most of the school year, going without a/c isn’t a major problem.

Wolfie - My husband looked at it Saturday afternoon, but he’s still trying to get his Dodge truck up & running. He is looking for another turbocharger for it, and will of course, need to install it once he gets one. I think the truck is his higher priority. The boys can use the Caravan. This is why we five vehicles! LOL!

in Canada, old beetles didn’t come with heaters as standard equipment, though you could buy one as an add on. this goes way back though. by late 60’s heaters were standard. as i said earlier, a flashback to my childhood. however, i have procrastinated long enough and must get to chores. we’ll see you all soon.

I know where you are coming from, Rmom. We presently have eight vehicles. We had nine, but I just sold one.

The engine should run fine without the a/c compressor. If it doesn/t something is wrong with the engine.

Rmom–You may need to put an idler pulley in place of the compressor for proper belt routing. I can explain better in an email.

Wolfie - When my hubby’s ready to focus on fixing the VW, if he’s stumped, I’ll let you know. He may already have thought of that, but he didn’t seem to know how he was going to go about getting the a/c out of the loop when he talked about it this weekend. This is the 3rd VW he has had, the 2nd diesel VW (and I remember that one didn’t have working a/c), so he may just need to rack his memory.

Wolfie - At least they are getting some more people (and competent ones!) hired to take some off his workload. You know it was pretty bad when they now have 5 people doing the work he did by himself for awhile. Hopefully he’ll be able to cut back to a 40-50 hour week, and not be so exhausted.

Wolfie - At least you seem to enjoy doing working on cars, and that isn’t something people can cut out of their budgets as easily as some things during a bad economy. I’m glad I resisted him when he wanted to get rid of the Caravan. I just wasn’t that comfortable with losing it as a backup. The a/c still works on the Caravan, even if the electrical problem keep the radio/stereo from working and sometimes the speedometer & other gauges.

Wolfie - With two new drivers (well, the 17 yr old is still on a learner’s), having some old beaters for them to drive is probably a good idea. We do let the 21 yr old drive the A6 (the only one that doesn’t have a dent, although it has some door dings) once in a while, but he’s a decent driver now. I’m not as comfortable with his driving in a strange big city where he doesn’t know his landmarks, but on familar roads, I can relax when he’s at the wheel.
