I have been doing baking for an early Thanksgiving next Wednesday with some of the family. We will go to my son’s on THE day and take a dish but I like to get with my sisters and a niece or nephew or two and throw in a grandson when available for a celebration here. Sometimes we add a lonely person or two from outside the family.

I started this tradition a number of years ago when I still had 4 siblings and spouses and it is good for us.

bmonk it was really a scary thing for all concerned.

I see I missed your birthday, bmonk so hope you had a pleasant day and celebrated it grandly. HAPPY BIRTHDAY one day late!!

Interesting, I’ve been watching some web cams including Yellowstone. Right now in front of Old Faithful is a herd of bison. Over a dozen going back and forth.

Thanks for posting that Sojo! I didn’t realize they had bison where the tourists roam. Bmonk - We’re thankful too! Hope&Joy - Yes, the chiropractor took x-rays of his neck.

Hi, Sojo! It’s rather wet out there today. My son wasn’t sure he was up to driving, so I rode along to school with him. He did fine, but with the wind blowing, he did have to use both hands to keep the van on the road. His left shoulder & elbow is sore - the shoulder from the shoulder harness, and the elbow from the cuts.

He’s brave, to get back in the saddle…

bmonk - Brave, huh! His parents didn’t give him a choice. I think he would like to milk his injury for all the pampering he can get. I drove him around yesterday, but thought he was going to drive himself today. So, just the fact I went with him was more pampering than I thought he really needed. At least it was daylight today, so he can wait a few more days to drive at night. He doesn’t seem too emotionally upset, just sore.

MisngNola of course you can have the chicken and the coke. :-)

This is the link to Yellowstone - on left half go to web cams, from there you can select several views. Some are temporally out and the live feed isn’t up yet (most refresh every 30 seconds). I usually can set the page I am watching at 150% and it still shows good detail. You should be able to use the info from here to get to all National Park web cams. This is a link to Earthcam that lnks to web cams all over the world.

The nights are pretty cold, but it feels good and is relaxing to me.

I don’t know when the next rain will hit here in Southern California, but when it does I will be looking forward to it.

Just went outside, too. Stars are out, but it’s too cold to stay for any length of time. (34 degrees right now) brrrrr…… Actually my Mountain Man called me outside to listen to a chorus of coyotes! It sounded like two packs calling from different directions. Really neat.

Rmom…….now that the park is closed until the snowmobiles are allowed in on Dec. 16th…….anyway, the bison are safe from the tourists now! We got some awesome shots of them last week. You can tell the young’ns have kinda all grown up….their fur is darker, but not quite as dark as the adults.

SOJO I am back for a minute in between games. Missouri won 115-74….very similar to KU, huh. Been watching KState and James Madison. Also Marquette playing Prairie View. Scores are closer.

Duke will play Marquette first in Kansas City on the 22nd and if they win, will probably play KState. Marquette beat them in KC 4 years ago in the same tourney.

Oh, so no one thinks I’m more off (darn I don’t have a rocker) than I really am. My daughter and I are decorating part of the house in a haunted Insane Asylum Christmas style this year. Arnold is the name of the local Boogeyman for our area. He went to school with me and my brother. Or at least this is the story I told my niece.

MontanaLady - I didn’t know they closed national parks, I thought they stayed open year round. But then, I mostly have experience with the Rocky Mountain National Park, since Colorado is much closer to KS.

I’ve seen both. Very good movies.

I’ve just seen the one with Price. It’s hard to imagine one of his horror films without him.

I know! He was a great actor.

I think the remake has a sequel as well.

The orginal Little Shop of Horrors was good and had a certain quality to it, but to me the remake was better.

I haven’t seen either one of the Little Shop of Horrors.

I haven’t seen that, though I think we own it. Does it include Christmas? We can’t forget Christmas!

The remake was more of a comedy-horror and very good. It had Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, Steve Martin, James Belushi, John Candy, Bill Murray and others in it. It was made in 1986. (It came out in December Luv Is Angelic.)

Sounds like something I would like to watch.

Hi, Rmom….yes, they do close National parks due to weather. Kings Canyon in CA closes the first weekend of November. Yellowstone closes the first weekend of November. With Yellowstone, once the snow pack is deep enough to groom for cross country skiing and snowmobiles, it opens up again, only from certain entrances.

One of my fondest dreams was to come to Yellowstone in February, the deepest cold month, and come in by the big snow tracker buses, and then stay at the Old Faithful Inn or Snow Lodge. Unfortunately, you have to have reservations YEARS in advance for this!!!!!
