Hi, friends!
It rained pretty hard around 4am (woke me up), and the forecast is for rain off & on the rest of the day. Might get some snow early tomorrow morning, but since the temps are supposed to be above freezing, I doubt we’ll get any accumulation.
Yes! No snakes dead or alive….. uh-uhh …… that would not be nice. Not even the garter or racer snakes with one or two lines running straight all the way up its back. I was being really brave one day and watched a edgamicational show on snakes. They said that almost all the snakes in nature had a similar looking poisonous snake for each nonpoisonous snake except those.
Hi, Ooops! - I guess that explains why the only snakes that don’t give me the absolute “willies” are the ones with the vertical lines. But I’m not going to get within touching range of those, either. Ringneck snakes are the only ones I’ll even touch. They’re about the size of a pencil, so more like a large worm.
Ooops I feel sorry for snakes….they make me jump or yell but I think they are very misunderstood creatures even if I don’t want them anywhere near me.
I grew up on a farm (sort of) and I was taught non-poisonous snakes heads are small and not triangular in shape no matter what they look like. A non poisonous snake has a nice, “innocent,” round eye without any creepiness exhibited by fold or slant etc.
I usually stay signed in until I sign in on another computer if I check remember me. Except now…… I think GoComics doesn’t like Fiend?
I do not want to get close enough to a snake to see if it has friendly eyes….. I know people can tell the differences if they know what they are looking for….. I don’t know and even garter snakes will bite if you annoy them.
Ooops! - I wouldn’t know. I declined eating it. I know when we first entered Kruger Park, we were taking pictures of impalas when we saw them. After a while, we had seen so many, we didn’t bother wasting any more film on them.
Hi, Grog!
I think bmonk & I put in links to the locations of the removed pictures, so they can still be seen. I generally don’t worry about any pictures I post getting removed, but wanted to make sure Ooops! had seen what a 4-legged impala looked like.
Grog - It is incredible to me how popular old Impalas are now. My first car was a ‘64 Impala, and it was an object of ridicule from my fellow students.
We never had Impalas–but we used to drive to High School with a neighbor in his ‘64 Ford Fairlane–the Great White Hope (‘cause you hoped it would make it…)
One of my favorite cars is a 1965 Mustang 2+2 black with red interior. We have had Pontiacs, a small buick and a Honda accord. Now a Buick again.
Sorry Ooops, Rmom and all others about the Sn…..es
We will think gentle rabbits, birds, fluffy kittens and puppies. Baby calves and lambs are sweet too!
Even though ours was a “Ford” family, my Dad picked out Chevys for me when I was in high school. First an Impala, then a Chevy II. Amazing that both ended up becoming desired classics, but both of mine were 4-doors, and I think the 2-door style is more popular now.
Hope&Joy - What is a “2+2”? After the Chevy II, I had a 1965 Mustang - black exterior, red interior. Stick shift, with a 351 Cleveland engine. That was the first car I got to pick out, and I really liked it. Too bad my mom totaled it when the brakes failed…
I consider my Aveo an intermediate step to the new Cruse - another Chevy, but one that hasn’t built up a track record yet. So I’ll wait a couple of years. So far, I like what I’ve seen & read.
But first we have St, Patrick’s Day to celebrate before we get to Easter. I’m more of a fan of that than Easter. The traditional fair is more to my liking than any other holiday.
I’m watching The Food Detective. The blandest, boringest, blechyest foods are gives you the best chances for a good sleep. Foods big on flavor (spice) that I crave tend to give you the worst sleep, takikg longer to get to sleep and maintaining it. Go figure.
Smiley RMom our mustang was a sporty, 2 door slant back with louvers that had chrome…5 on the floor. It was used and fun. They are very desireable now. Bucket seats and mock bucket seats in the back…I think that is why they referred to them as 2x2. Ford has something similar now to ressemble it. I will look.
See site below. I think the stripes make it look cheap. I like my solid black better.
Grog I was joking…sort of. I cook lean cuts and watch the fat. However, a little fat is needed in order for fat-soluble vitamins to do be digested. (A,E.D) and the olive oil we cook in or butter give us that.
Fats DO satisfy, however….if we can keep it only a tiny bit.
HopeandJoy♫, you are right about cooking with a little fat for flavor. It does make all the difference. Olive oil is also my oil of choice for cooking. However, every once in a while, I like to use peanut oil. I will rarely use vegetable oil.
As bad as fatty foods are, I do so enjoy treating myself to some KFC every once in a while..
