More bad news on job market here. ICT had lay-off and closed a community center, did furloughs with public library on Fridays I think over, State courts terminated all pt workers, hiring freeze over 100 positions not being filled was 2 years could be longer, public schools dropping programs terminating admin office positions, and now county may soon order people close to retirement to retire and sending out in two weeks pink slips also closing if not closed a bait shop at a lake included one office in ICT, placement for teens who run constantly closing, adult residential out of lock up reducing staff.

I am now ready to turn my rough draft essay in. And wasn’t easy. Yes I did a format first. The instructor gave us an example for a format to right 5 lines on topic’s and I chose one of them. I reseved full credit not very many points but got all of them. Also on any discussion response. I was disappointed I didn’t get more on mine.

Kab, I’m afraid what you are describing is going on all over the place. Here in Houston there are budget cuts too. Government at all levels have gotten too fat over the years. It’s time to trim that fat. They certainly can’t ask for more revenue from the people.

Hello again I know budget cuts are US wide. I just wonder how many agencies will be cut. Mental health is also affected. What the strangest part is public school has to cut more but they want to buy off homeowners around this HS to expand athletic grounds. Give us a break. Why doesn’t the goverment cut within unnecessary spending. Like someone else wrote. From average person checking account if you don’t have the money you don’t get what needs done fixed. I’m not getting into no political talk here either.

I’ve got a perm appointment this morning, at least when it is real curly, the windblown look doesn’t look quite as messy. It appears that I might be in for some nasty weather today. Sojo & Kab are far enough west, that they’re not in the bullseye. My internet has been slow as molasses the last few days. I’m hoping it is the IP’s fault, and that they’ll get it fixed soon. Well, I’ll try to let you all know if I got blown away or not.

Good, Sojo. I’ve been having short episodes of poor service, so maybe it’s gocomic’s issue?

Usually when GoComics acts up I can access other web sites with no problem so long re-loads etc. are this site usually. Yesterday I lost my connection for about an hour. It came on while talking to tech support. He said there was something on the line he wanted checked out. The person that came today said everything checked out okay and that there was some work being done in this area that could look like a problem to tech on-line support.

Hello Rmom - Yes, the clouds do seem to be building up around here now. Last hour I did the major upgrade Windows put out for security reasons (15 items).

Sojo - For some reason, mine didn’t do an update today, but my geek son said his did. I guess I’ll go tell it to do it manually. Sounds like rain is starting here.

Rmom - Mine was automatic but instead of waiting until tonight, I shut down my computer to do now before any bad weather. It downloaded the update sometime this afternoon. I think it started going out yesterday.

We’ve been cloudy all day–despite “Home on the Range”–and are due to get some rain/snow on and off for the next few days. Maybe to Wednesday? Still, it’s not raining as yet.

Except for NW Kansas all of it has developed in the last hour. It looks like Wichita will miss the current mess and most weather that will develope should be east of Wichita. However it looks like Rmom will get what’s developing now.

Yeah, I’ll keep you guys down south in prayer.

I have a lot of relatives in Oklahoma. It just missed some as it developed, is over some now and headed towared others.

I just did my updates, only a couple. I this line of storms didn’t really affect me, but since the watch is until 9pm, there could be more later. I’m more concerned with my hubby, as the worse looks like it is heading right towards him.

Guess I spoke too soon. The couple updates were some that had been found earlier, just not installed. Now, it found a boatload. BBL.

You know….. some peoples water their plants and lawns. By doing this they add water to the atmosphere. This causes rain. If I remember correctly, Sojo watered his daffydills.

Sojo, it is my mendasock computer! Spring must be update season….. Updates take more data than they tell you. Or something. It is good I guess, at least at the library I don’t drop the signal and have to start over.

Ooops! - If you have a PC the Windows update will be a large one this time. It will take a while but is needed. It fixes several security issues they found.

Ooops! I’m sorry! I think I had to have mine look for updates 3 times before it said I had all that I needed. It is the pits to lose signal and have to start all over again - been there, done that. Storm still heading towards my hubby, but at least now he’s in a sturdy building instead of a trailer.

Haven’t been able to reach my hubby after the storm went through. I haven’t heard any tornado reports for the county he’s in, but they had tree limbs 5 to 8 inches down. At least he should have been safe where he’s at, not so sure about the trailer he lives in.

Rmom - He should be okay (hope so). Phone lines, cell towers, etc. could be down from a storm like that.

Sojo - He could just be back in the factory area, too. His cell phone doesn’t always get a signal back there, or else he doesn’t feel it vibrate. Oooops! - As much as I like to blame other people, it is hard to blame Sojo for the weather. Now, if he’d gone & washed his car, and then it rained, well…I might be inclined to do so. But any excuse to use your jelly gun, huh?

Smiley R Mom you were just mentioning your firefox being slow.

I’m not an expert but I did read up on firefox a little. It has what you call a profile manager built into it. If it gets cluttered or corrupted with data then your browser becomes, slow, sluggish and to the point where it freezes and you get a not responding message.

Come to think of it that’s kind of like a computers registry over time, isn’t it.

Hi, Lil’ Sis & Wolfie! Lil’ Sis - Thanks for the tip! My geek son twisted my arm and upgraded me recently to the latest version. In the process, the profile was changed, so maybe that’s where the problem is. I’ll see if he wants to “geek” on it tomorrow, as I’ll be in ICT and not needing it for several hours. Our internet speed is much lower at our house than what he says he’s getting at the college. So, they decided to stay after class and surf there for awhile.
