Hey there, StelBel, Cleokaya, Lonewolf, Grog, Dry, Supersurfer, Chikuku, Sugie and all the gang that drops by…
Ah! Bad weather, cold, even snow, wind, rain, and I caught a bad cold. Fever, runny nose, sore throat, the whole nine yards.
I’m better now but still feel weak and all tired out.
How is it that a person can, for whatever reason, not be able to take care of anything for 3 days and when you get back…..you have 7 days of work that needs to be done?
I’d love to be able to do without a car, but I operate pretty much like Mel does, when I have an issue with the car and hope I can get by without taking it to a mechanic.
Good Morning Grog, sugie, Dry, puppybreath and CD fiends.
puppybreath hope you feel better soon. I haven’t had a cold yet this winter. Now watch, having said that, I’ll come down with a doozy! Anyway, when I feel one coming on, I hit the Zicam. Works for me everytime.
Fellow Baby, I can’t say for sure, but maybe NBC bought the rights. I thought Magnum PI was originally shown on ABC: That’s where most of my favorite shows were in the 80’s, including Monday Night Football
I know, StelBel. At the time I tink most of my favorite comedies were on CBS, but most of my favorite hour long shows were on ABC, which led me to that line of thought.
Fellow Baby There was always some humor in Magnum PI most of the time, especially when Tom Selleck and John Hillerman ( Higgins) had their scenes! He retired to your neck of the woods somewhere. I’m glad I discovered the reruns. I loved that show!
And CBS on Saturday nights there for awhile was unstoppable in the ratings race! That whole night was nothing but hit comedies!
I got a chance to meet Tom Selleck (years ago). My ex-wife and I were out in the country taking pictures of old barns and a group of people rode by on bicycles. One stopped and it turned out to be Tom Selleck. He enquired about what we were doing, we had a short chat and he rode to catch up with his group. He was very personable.
I once talked to Tony Gabriel of the Ottawa Roughriders on the way to lunch (CFL) and Bob Berry (former coach of the Habs & Kings) in a New York bar many years ago. But that’s it. I have seen movie stars from a distance, but never talked to them.
Well I have you both beat, cleo and Fellow Baby! I stood beside Richard Petty, the famous race car driver at a hotel in Baltimore when we were both checking in! He was wearing his signature cowboy hat! Now aren’t you both impressed! Jealous even!? ROFLMAO!
One of my cousins was a bartendar in LA, met a lot of famous actors and actresses, but I guess that doesn’t count, does it?
Oh and Bill Clinton came to my hometown to stump for Hillary. I’m not a Democrat, but I went to see him. He was a good speaker, and I saw him up close, too, but I guess that doesn’t count either, does it? :-D Oh well!
Fellow Baby I’ll have to check and see if I can find the Rockford Files on line.
cleo I have to echo Fellow Babies sentiments. Who in the HE!! haven’t you met! I would have figured Tom to be a very nice man from all I’ve read, seen and heard.
No doubt. He’s a fan of Nascar or whatever. I never got into auto racing. I didn’t even drive my first car until I was 40. If I had my way, everything would be within walking distance.
Fellow Baby perhaps he was, but I got the impression Petty was a regular there at that hotel.
Never drove until you were 40? How did you manage that in this day and age, but good for you! I’m sure all that walking or biking has given you good sted health wise!

Magnum is currently on one of our local independants at 8PM. I watch when I can. The Rockford Files follows it.
If I was home on Saturday nights, I would watch the PBS comedies like Red Dwarf & Keeping Up Appearances
