Well I guess that’s one way to get your mail. But having your computer outside and waiting for someone to send you an email? Hmmm.
I had to take Pandora in to the vet today. We were out of her medication for pain for her joint problems and needed a refill but our vet wouldn’t just renew it because it is hard on the kidneys and liver and she wanted to check Pandora’s values to see if there was any significant damage going on.
We got her in for her appointment and exam and the blood draw and then had to wait for the results. It took a couple of hours with us waiting and thumbing through old magazines and becoming increasingly worried about the outcome. Then they had to take another blood draw. Finally we had a result.
Most of her blood values showed in the normal range but one of the values, the one related to stress on the kidneys was somewhat elevated. It shows that she is having some problems there. But all in all, because she is going to be 20 years old this year, it was acceptable.
We got the refill of her pain medication and were told to watch her water intake very carefully. The first signs of significant damage to the kidneys is a marked increase in water consumption.
So that’s the way my day went. But I’m very happy to have her home again and living her normal life with lots of love and security. But I was really worried for a while, apprehensive and dreading what might be the outcome.

Howdy StelBel and puppybreath!20, really puppybreath? You are fortunate indeed! :-) We had our first “kids” Teddy and Gallagher for 16 and 17 years, best damn dogs! Still miss them and it’s been about 15 years or so now.
The rug rats ate out of bowls last night. Got a bit messy, LOL! They kept stepping in the bowls!
The gray one seems to be answering to Little Bit. Don’t think we’ll have a Remus and Romulus combo! But who knows, :-D
