Good morning, hope you all had a good Hallowe’en. The one thing I didn’t miss, being on the West Coast, was what happens when you try to TP a house during a snow storm.
cleo, I agree with what you said last night about dining out. I usually will order food that is either a pain to make or something I just can’t do justice to. Then again there’s pigknuckles, which are probably easy to do, just impossible to find at the grocer’s.

Good to be back and getting back to normal! We lost power Saturday night, and regained it last night (we live close to center of town, so were the first to get it back. Hope rest of town will be getting it today.). Fortunately, we have friends about a mile away who heat with a wood stove and have a generator powering up the essentials, so they invited us to stay there the last couple of days. We came home at night, which wasn’t too bad. The house held steady at 47-48 degrees, so with 2 quilts and a comforter, we were warm enough….just don’t get out of bed! lol All in all, of course it could have been worse. But, I certainly don’t want to go through that again. A lot of trees are severely damaged or gone for good. A lot of property damage. Again, we were fortunate. We were a little inconvienced, but we thank our lucky stars that family, friends and we are all OK. Like I said before…good to be back!
@ Dry I’m glad the storm wasn’t too bad for you! Still, I think you’ll agree: No more Halloween snowstorms, please!!!
Next Cuddles will be featured on a catwalk sporting the latest fashions. Oh, to be so popular an icon.Grog, your comment made me realize how things have changed. When I was a kid we always had a jar of pickled pigs feet in the fridge. It’s a drag to be without power, but a nightmare when it is cold and snowy.
@ Dry, cleokaya and sugie Thanks, everyone! I was only “in communicado” for 2 days, but really missed you all — not to mention we had basically no means of communication, of getting any news. No TV, sporadic radio, no cell phone service, no internet, the smallest newspaper edition ever (2 pages) finally yesterday afternoon. I cannot imagine how anyone can deal with weeks and weeks of that. I do appreciate how fortunate we are. It is so good to get back to normal. (Still no TV, though. Oh, well…..) A good evening to you all and see you here tomorrow!
