puppybreath you can find out the file extention in Windows Explorer with the details setting or look at the the file extention at the end of the file name. It is separarated by a dot like: avatar.JPG

If your file is not a JPG file you can save the file as a JPG using Microsoft Paint. Right click on your file, go to save as and select Paint.

I hope that will solve all your problems. Oh and also make sure your file size is not too big – certainly not any bigger than 100 kb. This can be fixed in Microsoft Office Picture Manager.

    Good morning puppybreath

I just reread your comment. You want to use Lonewolf’s pic of Annie, right? Okay let’s go back a step or three. Click on this link Citizen Dog 11/08/07 to get to the pictures of Annie. Scroll down to the picture you want for your avatar (like we can’t guess). Right click on the image and select “Save image as…”. A new dialog box should appear allowing you to rename the image. You can keep the original name (GEDC0253b.jpg or some such) or change it (“Annie the Avatar” or whatever) but don’t worry about that “.jpg” thing, it’s automatic. Before you click “Save” note where you’re saving to, so you can find it again. Now repeat the steps you described for uploading your avatar.

    Good Luck & Good Uploading

This was me last year, during the worst winter that I had ever experienced! So far (other than the Halloween disaster snow storm), we’ve had no snow to speak of this winter…knock on wood!!!

Good morning, Lonewolf, puppybreath, cleokaya, Dry, sugie, Grog, x_Tech, JP Steve and CDers everywhere!

Can’t wait to see puppybreath’s new avatar!!

In Hawaii it rains sideways. It is the wind that does it.

Fellow Baby, I got my Pooch Cafe Christmas print today. It’s already hanging and looks great. Thanks for giving the heads up on it.

Fellow Baby, I’m not an AFC fan except for the AFC North. 3 of those teams were part of the original NFL back “in the day”, and I still have a fondness for them.

Hi everybody. Well I am one pooped out puppy! I just got home a little while ago from an all day visit with a dear friend I haven’t seen in some time. She and her dogs and I had a great day together doing lots of fun things including some light hiking in the hillside trails above her home. My legs hurt and my hamstrings are still pulling. Gad! I’m out of shape!

x_Tech I read your instructions for getting Annie’s photo for my avatar. I’m going to try it tomorrow. I’m so tired right now that I just can’t concentrate. Thank you so very much. I appreciate your help and all the kindness and love you have shown to me.

I’ll let you know what happens.

Grog Good Buddy, thank you too for your concern and help.

Tomorrow I am going to concentrate on the help you gave me in your post after a good night’s sleep. Right now it is all I can do to keep my thoughts together in order to respond to your kindness and concern which I so very deeply appreciate.

This is exciting! I feel challenged but with the help I am getting from you and from x_Tech, I am certain I will rise to the challenge and conquer this avatar thing.

How can something that is obviously so simple to you and others be such a challenge to me? Born in the wrong decade I guess.

I haven’t noticed any posts from Lonewolf since I got back. Did I just miss them or has he not posted? Does anyone know what’s going on with him? All good stuff I hope!

I cannot express my thanks and love enough for all of you fellow CD fellows and gals! I feel warm and cuddly all over and I have to repeat myself and tell you all that I was totally taken aback by your warm show of affection and concern. It didn’t occur to me that I would be missed or that anyone would even notice that I had dropped out of posting.. Thank you for showing me what a really great group of friends that you are!

Hugs to StelBel, Cleokaya, Grog, Dry, Sugie, x_Tech, JP Steve, Lonewolf, Chikuku, Comicgos, and all you other citizens of CD. Keep smiling!
