Shikamoo – I do have a great Toby story. A couple of years ago Toby decided to follow my husband as he raced out of here to get to the post office before it closed. Jumped in my car to find him and bring him home – no Toby in sight. Spent the rest of the night with all of our friends searching for him, by the morning we were looking for road kill. Tacked up fliers all over town, NADA, called the Humane Society to see if anyone had brought in a Brittany Spaniel. Nope. Told them he had been mircochipped but didn’t have tags. He was, however, sporting a Green Bay Packer collar, They checked all their colleagues and someone had said that a family had picked up a dog with a Packer Collar on, he was running down the middle of the highway. They picked him up, we got the contact information and drove about 15 miles up the road to get him. Saw the contact guy and he said that the family who picked him up fell in love with him and wanted to meet us. Turned out to be Ben Stiller and his family. I shall be forever grateful. They were kind and beautiful people. His kids renamed him Jackie and were devastated when we took him home. They had a picture taken of all of us which I will treasure.
I may not be posting as much in the next few weeks/months, but i will probably still be looking in often.i don’t want to miss my favorite comics or heare what my friends here have to say to each other.I just don’t have much to say right now, and that might change at any time as well.I AM getting human contact now.An aid comes in to give mom a shower Tuesday and Friday, a volunteer comes in on Monday, and i am still paying for a sitter Wednesday. A nurse will be stooping in twice a week, and counselor is visiting from time to time, just so i have someone to babble to.So in that respect i am doing better.
Thank you, so very much, for all your kind words. Will be out tonight celebrating Toby’s life and my (less important) birthday. You’d think the little guy could have come up with a better gift.
@*chefwen*- Toby seems like such a loyal pal to run down the highway after your hubby like that. What an endearing story with a happy ending.Focus on the beautiful and don’t be afraid to mourn his loss even as you celebrate your life and his. There’s solace to be had in your virtual and real time friends. I remember that well from Mua.
I wondered if that was what the six month referred to. Make the most of this time, even if she doesn’t seem to recognize you. On dome deep level, I am sure that she knows you are there.
I am glad that you have company now. We’ll miss you, but you know where we are any time you want to talk or vent, as StelBel says.
You are a dear man to care so much for your mother this way. Have a peaceful night.
I’ve been busy trying to put a dent in the # of CD’s I need to listen to. I just got an order today and expect to get another one tomorrow. Some CD’s will come a little later in the month. This is all part of the gift card I got for my service award.
I’ll have plenty to listen to for the remainder of the month and then some. I still have to find some time to take down the Christmas decorations this weekend though.
Well the CD I’m currently listening to is almost finished and when it is I’m turning in.
(((((((((((((((((((((((happy)))))))))))))))))))))))))) You must do what you must do, for your mom, as she did for you! Check in when you can so we know you are okay, don’t DISAPPEAR ON US ENTIRELY! AND KNOW THAT THOSE OF US WHO PRAY, ARE PRAYING FOR YOU AND YOUR MOM, and those who don’t ARE STILL SENDING GOOD KARMA IN YOUR DIRECTION!
happy, since you say you will be checking in, if you want, just drop a quick HI ALL! and we will know you are still about, unlike *puppybreath as we have no idea what happened there.
HANG IN THERE MY FRIEND and know that many of us here have gone through what you are experencing now.

I would just like to comment that today’s strip seems especially poignant. Rest is peace, Toby.

Kind of reminds me of him throwing doggie treats in the air to catch them in his mouth.Like we do with popcorn.

This strip today is just awesome! Then I read chefwen’s 1st comment. That made it even more so!
Again, chefwen, those of us who have been there certainly do feel your pain! My deepest sympathies.
That was a cute story too.
