That’s just heartbreaking. My 15 year old kitty boy is getting pretty feeble and it is scaring the liver out of me. I’m sick of saying goodbye to my little guys.

chefwen, my sympathies as well. It truly never is easy is it? And yet we set ourselves up for this eventually because we fall in love with those eyes, be it a dog, cat or a bird. And we keep on doing it!

Yes, it woke me up about 2:45 this morning, Fellow Baby. And we’re getting more in the afternoon hours through tomorrow afternoon. They’re saying it impact areas in South Houston and south of that. Coastal areas may get as much as 6 inches or more.

Right now you wouldn’t know it’s 11AM in the morning. It is dark and stormy. And I have to drive out to our Tech center soon.

Looks like the lovely spate of highs in 80s is over for now. If I’m careful about how much I open each exposure, I may still be able to manage with almost no AC for another week.

We are approaching the one year anniversary of Puppybreath’s last comment (May 15, 2012).

I miss her.

I have a bad video of my little bird singing.I have decided to name him Caruso.The audio is from my phone, so it is a bit hard to hear, and does not do justice to the range of his voice. Im hooked.

I fear the worst for puppybreath. She was in her 70’s. I miss her too. Some of us have had an emergency contact system set up with a trusted friend or family member to let us know when someone has fallen ill or passed. Perhaps we should do that here as well, although, as my one son said, “Mom, I will let these people know, but it won’t be the first thing I do. It will take me awhile, but I will do it”.

I fear that many of the people we once knew on this site never did have such a plan in place.

Fellow Baby, I believe you are correct. We will always wonder what happened to some of these people. Did they just move on, or what. People like Risitas, DC Guys, Lewreader I know Rad is still around because I see his posts every once in a great while.

I heard the first of the 17 year cicadas tonight. I know I did, because they have such a distinct sound! I love to hear them. And this year I will try to enjoy every moment. 17 years from now when they emerge again, I could be gone, deaf, or have Altzheimers, so I will try to enjoy to the fullest these days of the cicadas!

Yes, Fellow Baby, I’m sure those are just a few among many.

I hope you haven’t had to go out in those storms, Fellow Baby. I had a real fun ride to the Tech Center this morning – NOT! Pasadena streets can flood in no time.

ANYONE ELSE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS SITE? I type a comment, it shows up two times, I delete the one, and they BOTH disappear, you want to hit the reply button to REPLY to someone, and that doesn’t work, and SO ON AND SO ON! GEEZ!

I would head to BS because I am sure that is where the action is, but I am so tired, so I will hit my feather pillows instead.

I’m late, but I miss puppybreath too. As I’ve said before, she was the first gocomics poster who made me feel like a friend. There are more of you now, and I thank you. “Thank you for being a friend” — they should write a song about that!
