Our Morning news (weekdays) has a “History Quiz” and today it had a multiple choice on what this Day was called before it was renamed (in the 60s) so those who were not adults at that time did not remember.
I caught the tail end of it, Fellow Baby. I was recording a tape at the time. I saw The Bridge On the River Kwai early this morning. Then while The Guns Of Navarone was on, I recorded my first tape. While eating and programming the tape I recorded in the afternoon, I did see The Devil’s Brgade.
Hubby watched Guns of Navarone. I just caught bits and pieces. Used to like Gregory Peck but I don’t care for him anymore. I was hoping the Great Escape would be on, but I guess it wasn’t. Of course, it might be on NetFlix.
Are you kidding me, Fellow Baby? That’s one for my classic collection. Now envision Norm and the rest of the Cheers gang getting excited about seeing that movie as they hum the theme music.
Fellow Baby I don’t remember the Cheers gang humming the theme song, but then, I haven’t seen Cheers in a LONG time, and as far as I know, it’s not on our cable, and there is so much to choose from on NetFlix, it could be on there, I did love that show though, esp when Coach was in the episodes before he passed away.
Fellow Baby, if I recall correctly, this was during Coach’s watch at the bar. Also, if I recall correctly, the gang was to go back to Sam’s pad to watch the movie.
There were some pretty good British war movies as well. A couple of my favorites were The Cruel Sea & Sink the Bismark. I believe The 49th Parallel is also British. It was an excellent movie starring Leslie Howard and Sir Lawrence Olivier.
Fellow Baby, LOL! NOW I REMEMBER! Goodnight! As always, WE’LL KEEP THE LIGHT ON! (Since you don’t like the light on, stick your head under the covers!
I went down to my local beach tonight.Much of the flowers washed up there.Ive bin trying to hold it together.Im feeling very impermanent, and not of much importance. Good night people and pets.

The owner of the boat must have been a Star Trek fan.

Fellow Baby, I don’t mind Peck, but I can’t stand Anthony Quinn. I made a point of missing the movie for that reason.
I love Twelve O’clock High with Peck. One of these days, I’ve got to buy The Devil’s Brigade.* on DVD.
