Since this was not the first time GC has run the strip, it is my opinion that they’ll probably start it up again…if not tomorrow…then, maybe within the next few days. After all, there’s quite a few of us who gather here, so it’s still a VERY popular strip, which I don’t think goes ignored by GC.
cleo, I thought too Mel and Fergus walked off into the woods or somewhere for the final strip. In fact, I should look, I think I have it in one of my scrapbooks at home.
I could read this strip over and over again. It manages to be sweet, sarcastic, original, funny and poignant. Fergus and Mel are a marriage. Two souls that love one another.
The CD I thought was the final one was last used on Dec. 23, 2009. It too was a fitting ending. If I was as talented as the rest of you Citizens of Dog I would post it for you.
I love Calvin and Hobbes ( check out my avatar ); nothing in my mind is better, but I rarely comment there (two many comments) and CD in my mind is the sweetest relationship I have ever seen in a comic.
cleokaya (THE FLASH) GoComics PRO Member said, 16 minutes ago I love Calvin and Hobbes ( check out my avatar ); nothing in my mind is better, but I rarely comment there (two many comments)
SERIOUSLY MY FRIEND?? TOO MANY COMMENTS?
WINK, WINK, SNICKER, SNORT, LOL! Back in the day! Sigh!
When Lynn Johnson closed out For Better or Worse, she told the continuing story of the characters. then she had to start all over again (her husband ran off with an other woman, and there went the retirement plans). I sometimes read the strip and I know how it will turn out in the future. I think I would have liked to know if Mel and Zoe had kids, and if Fergus ever found a mate etc.
Just sent my email under “Site Feedback” asking them to please start Citizen Dog over from the beginning and telling them what a lovely comic strip it is and how much it would be missed if they discontinue it.
I’m going to bake some peanutbutter oatmeal cookies soon and see if she likes those. It’ll be far cheaper than store bought dog treats, and we can share…
I heard.back from gocomics and from their reply they make it appear that if I want to see old CD strips in the future I should do it through the archives.
Little Dog Lost would also be a good replacement hangout. It is beautifully drawn and written. I already read Pooch Cafe, Red and Rover, Little Dog Lost, Dog Eat Doug and other pet strips.
I’m getting toward the end of the first disk of the first season of SOAP. I almost forgot how funny that show was. I loved when the Campbells meet Chuck and Bob for the first time. What a scream!
WELL, I WASN’T DONE YET, BUT IT POSTED ANYWAY, LOL! WHAT I WAS GOING TO SAY, IS, THAT DUMB, STUPID STRIP, “PLASTIC BABY BUBBLEHEADS FROM SPACE” OR WHATEVER, IS IN THE REGULAR LINEUP, AND THAT STRIP IS SO DUMB AND STUPID! IMHO!
I saw it, Fellow Baby. I never was much of a cheese person though. My mom loved Kraft slices and Velveeta. I don’t think she ever tried that cheese in a can though. But it all turns my stomach.
This weekend I’m giving my slow cooker a workout. I’m making my second split pea soup and my first Boston beans recipe. Looking forward to that one. It obviously calls for bacon as an ingredient and rum.
Got it Happy, here and in the e! Lucky for YOU I FOUND SOME chocolate in my candy drawer, not fudge, but *DARK CHOCOLATE ALMOND HERSHEY BARS! SO THERE, DUDE! ;-P
After having a conversation with GoComics, they say, in writing, that ’Re-running the strip, is not in our control, and is left up to the creator.

Fellow Baby, I usually keep all my passwords in an Excel file. I hope I have it here at home. Got a request from someone yesterday who I knew in Dallas, but think is now back in China .
Fellow Baby I have it somewhere, LOL, probably on a Post It at work! I should do what you do, I use Excel, But sadly, Have to LEARN QUICK BOOKS, SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE, PLEASE!
GOOD NIGHT HAPPY, HAVE A GOOD NIGHT AND A GREAT DAY TOMORROW!
Fellow Baby, I recently got the upgrade to Quicken. I gave it a raving review of 2 out of 10. Im sure they’d get their act together if they had any real competion in the area of budgeting. With every new release, they have been taking one step forward and 2 steps of late. But the accounting function is pretty easy and hasn’t changed all that drastically. Should be easy, peasy for you.
I’ve got a pea soup ready to cook overnight. Then I’m trying out a new recipe for beans when that’s done in the morning. If my timing’s right, it’ll be ready for dinner – with maybe a spicy sausage.
Thanks Fellow Baby for the positive “EASY PEASY!” I hope so! I will let you know, going to an overview meeting on the 28th, my co-hort and friend in a neighboring county has been using this program for a few months. She is going to the meeting with me, and bringing her spread sheets to show me how they do things, and since both counties have pretty much the same programs, I should learn something, I HOPE!
This is my home away from home. The people here helped me keep sane, when my world became less than sane.I’ll not give up on it.I will keep comeing back…
Happy she is LOVELY! I have pictures in my photo library here on my laptop but I don’t know how to insert them into the comment box. I could make them one by one my avatars to post for a day or something, but they wouldn’t be very big pictures.
I like the sappy stuff, StelBel, which is also why I like Red & Rover. Even Louie at Overboard gives me the occasional “awe” moment. But I’d want to keep a dog like Poncho chained to the dog house under 24 hour surveillance, with a guard on the guard.
Well GEEZ FELLOW BABY! YOU WON’T BE ROOTING FOR PEYTON? I AM SO DISAPPOINTED! And I must say, this should be a good Super Bowl, though Seattle was way “off their usual tonight”.
You have to get used to Poncho! He is a rather sweet, feisty little dude, just give him a chance! But I agree with Happy, this will reboot I think. I have seen this happen with other classic strips, they do come back, give it a week or two. Or less.
As for Poncho, I gave him about a year I guess, and decided to clear a slot for another strip I wanted to check out….which I think I’ve also discarded recently.
THIS IS A LINK TO THE FIRST CITIZEN DOG STRIP IN THE ARCHIVES. I JUST LEFT A COMMENT THERE. WE COULD MEET THERE, THEN MOVE ON TO SUBSEQUENT PAGES EITHER ON A DAILY BASIS OR WHEN THERE’S TOO MANY COMMENTS ON A PAGE.

I guess it’s time to start another story line for this strip. As they are sitting on the dock, a dolphin swims up and talks to them in dolphin. Not so strange, the dog understands him. The dolphin asks what they’ve been up to lately.

It’s only been a little over ten days and already 230 comments. Maybe if we make enough comments, they’ll restart the strip.

I guess it’s time to start another story line for this strip. As they are sitting on the dock, a dolphin swims up and talks to them in dolphin. Not so strange, the dog understands him. The dolphin asks what they’ve been up to lately.
