    Oh…. Hi, everybody…..

Tonight we’ll be at Alvin and Harriet’s house, to post our comments on….

the July 13th  2018 “CLEO and COMPANY”

Which of course, we all read on Sherpa:

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

Wow, two nights in a row of being entertained by our kind Ballard street neighbors.

Harriet doesn’t fuss over it as much as Julia does… But that’s just fine.

A few cookies and some coffee or tea is very welcome, and their living room is a tiny bit rumpled, but quite cosy.

Harriet’s actually been more busy fussing over the dog.

She really wants Sparkle to look pretty for the party…

Even though I’ve explained that most of us love dogs, anyway, dressed up or not..

And it’s not really a party, though I guess it could be called one…

And Sparkle doesn’t have to impress Cleo, because Cleo won’t be coming.

(Not that much impresses Cleo anyway…)

Alvin’s down in his basement workshop.

He’s got quite a setup down there… In fact, as far as I can tell, he’s not even all that interested in coming up to join us.

He’s another one who’s hard to impress…. I don’t think a comic strip qualifies, even though he lives in one, himself.

Uh oh… I don’t think he’s too impressed by Princess Sparkle, either, after all that work Harriet did.

Poor Sparkle looks a bit let down too. Well that, or maybe she hates wearing a tiara… but I hope it’s not that.

    Sigh….

    Alvin, Alvin… don’t you realise?

When Sparkle’s not happy, her Mama’s not happy…

And you know what they say about when Mama‘s not happy.

Lois? Lois Carmen Denominator?!? Well, I’ll be. How long has it been? It seems like forever, but you haven’t changed one iota.

Jason? Jason Basset?!? Well, I’ll be. How long has it been? Only a year, really? You old son of a ……. gun. You haven’t changed one iota.

    Oh no!

This just doesn’t seem to be my night!

Maybe because, of course, it’s Friday the 13th…. though I …cough… don’t believe at all in that kind of silliness.

    Dennis…. did Sparkle bite him??

Or even worse… did she bite you?

Harriet talks about that dog like she really is a princess.

Dainty and refined, would never bark too loudly, or bite any one.

I’m starting to think the description is a little biased.

I sure don’t want any of our Cleo group getting bitten.

And then… I should have known today’s Cleo would be this poster….

Not bad enough that I’d never go see a movie like this…

and that I can hardly bear to look at posters for any of them….

    but I really think….. and I’ve said this before….

that Stel added gratuitous blood to her original design.

Look… here’s one of several posters for human copycat films….

    http://static1.squarespace.com/static/588a4776f5e23132a09d23b2/588a4e91be65945e50a36c0e/589228c72e69cf51818dc2a7/1487343133145/Friday+13+Jason.jpg?format=550w

See how it stole most of her design?

    Except for three things….

    1)The tagline on top….

which is on a different version of the poster….

2)A silly human trying to look like a fierce basset.

3)And the one that gets me…

Shiny red blood dripping off the knife…

and making me want to hide behind the couch.

I didn’t see blood an any of the human posters.

Anyway…. you guys go if you want….. I’m staying right here.

Well…. maybe not at Harriet and Alvin’s for long, if that dog really bites.

Let me know, and if everybody wants, we’ll stay just long enough to be polite, and then head for my pie shop.

    Couple of loose ends…

Liverlips… I guess you must have posted while I was typing and I didn’t refresh….

So I didn’t see your comments till now, and didn’t get a chance to say this:

    “Huh?”

Maybe everybody will laugh at me,

if the second one’s a quote, or a spoof of one, from the Friday the 13th movies, which I never saw, so I don’t get it….

except I do know the main character was named Jason.

But I only know Lois Carmen Denominator as the name of at least a couple of drag queens.

Nighthawks …Hope you saw my late-ish reply to you yesterday, about re-runs and subscribers and stuff.

    And computers, I think.

And… if anybody using GC Links (one of Neil Wicks bookmarklets) is having trouble with the movie poster image in my comment…

either refresh the page and try again, or click on the little blank square, to open it in another window.

For some reason it didn’t load for me a couple of times…

    but it does work.

Might just be me and my slow internet, anyway.

This is really great for Friday the 13th.

But, I’m with Susan. This is too scary for this delicate ole gal. Never did see any of these. Maybe the posters scared me away?

Love this one! Not many Friday the 13th comics so this one is appreciated. I saw the movie but always knew it was ‘just a movie’.
