Cleo is quite the entrepreneurial basset, eh? Give her credit; she isn’t just waiting around for Clara & Claude to always provide. No sir. She’s taking care of business for herself. Pulling herself up by her own boot – - – uh – - straps – - – um – - – whatever it is bassets use to pull themselves up by.
I hope Cleo has all the necessary permits! I worry that there are no thermometers in the pans in the steam table! I wonder if those are steam or smell squiggles, although the flies have me leaning towards the later. Either way, a bad batch of possum purée could ruin a day, or a carpet at least!

His last name must be Maxwell then, if Bob is his first name.

It’s ball PEIN hammer.

It’s ball peen hammer, to be correct.
stpatme about 16 years ago
To be more correct, Merriam-Webster spells it ball-peen.

Hmm, Webster’s New World has ‘ball peen’, with no dash.

If you came here to comment on the Sunday, September 30th, “Cleo and Company” strip….
PLEASE go back to yesterday!
This Ballard Street strip is for October 1st.
There apparently was no strip for Sept 30th in 2008, so we’ll stay on Sept 29th, and come back here tomorrow.
That way the days will stay in sync.
Thanks!

Marg…. I’m glad you guys were able to hammer that out ten years ago.
I’d hate to be discussing it again now.

OK….Here we are, everybody!
Now we’re back, to post our comments
for the all-new… and rather smelly….. October 1st 2018 “CLEO and COMPANY”
Which, if you haven’t already, you can read on Sherpa
http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy
What I want to know is…. where is Cleo getting these squished creatures?
Cos I remember a strip where she was driving the Clifford’s car, and got scolded for purposely aiming at cats.
She’d better not be sneaking off with the car now, and wiping out the local fauna!
Don’t get me wrong…. I know some of you are going to say it would be just fine to take out skunks, or squirrels, or rats….
whatever your personal bias…
But nature has a balance…. and she’s not allowed to upset it for personal gain.
And yeah…. she’s just trying to earn a few bucks for herself.
But as a star of screen and stage, does she really need to?
If she does, I’d say she needs a much better agent…
and some heavy negotiations with Cleo & Company Productions…
the studio that, after all, rose to fame on the strength of her name.

It smells anything but fishy.

What Claude doesn’t realize is that Cleo has made more money today than Claude has made in a week.

After reading today’s ’toon, and giggling, I looked at it and immediately thought this would be a great Find the 9 Differences!
We’re in North Dakota today, heading for Fargo tonight. It snowed on us yesterday! It was September and it snowed!
We’ve seen enough road kill on this trip. I’ll have to send some to Cleo.
xoxo Happy Trails.

Neighbors should be complaining soon. I don’t see and five dollar bills in those dog’s paws. Maybe they are wanting free samples.

I still have my copy of “Flattend Fauna” somewhere — maybe Cleo would like to borrow it…
