One low miss, and Maxwell has a free lobotomy. In Ballard County, these may still be considered therapeutic. Indeed, they might be helping some of the citizens deal with all the crazy stuff that happens. As for me, I will stick with the suction cup movable dart club.

Hey, I stayed in the Basset Motel in its heyday. You used to get a Milk-Bone on your pillow every night.

Holy Cow! Maxwell! Do you all go around sporting one of those on your dome, or is today your (un)lucky day?

Who among us, after having watched Psycho, has seen showering in quite the same light?

    Well, here we are againā€¦.

Welcome, all, to another day of posting our comments on ā€œCLEO and COMPANYā€

ā€¦. this time, itā€™s the Oct 11th Ā 2018, stripā€¦. with another creeeeepy poster from StelBel.

    Ā

Take a look, if you dare, on Sherpaā€¦

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

    Ā

The scary shower scene in that film made all the dogs I know reluctant to take showers.

Most dogs still donā€™t want to. Iā€™m sure thatā€™s why.

    Ā

I know there was a human version, but Iā€™m not seeing a poster much like thisā€¦.

I think Stel made it up.

There are pictures of the house, from the human version, where somebody tried to copy Stelā€™s just-too-scary-to be-adorable touch of showing Normanā€™s ā€œMotherā€ in the windowā€¦.

Look, I enlarged that part for you:

    https://i.postimg.cc/fy2qgLwZ/Mrs_Basset_in_the_window.png

    Ā

Speaking of Norman Bassetā€¦. Anthony Barkins was so good in that role.

I guess most people associated hm with it foreverā€¦.

    but I didnā€™t.

    I only know that I considered him a rather nice-looking sort of a dogā€¦

long and lean for a bassetā€¦. but if I ever said so, my friends would shiver, and give me strange looks.

    Ā

Farsideā€¦. no troubles withā€¦ you knowā€¦ the showers?

    Ā

    Meanwhileā€¦. as for Maxwellā€¦.

I guess he enjoys ā€¦ er.. darting aboutā€¦.

but I donā€™t get the point.

Iā€™m sure he doesā€¦. probably several times a day.

Iā€™m with Dennisā€¦. suction cups will do!

    Ā

    And speaking of cupsā€¦

How many want coffee, and how many tea?

    (Nice segue?)

Weā€™re in the Basset Room (thanks Fenton) at the Tiki todayā€¦

Kettleā€™s on, and so is the coffeepotā€¦.

And I just put 3 dozen assorted doughnuts from my bakery on the sideboard.

Some dogs might be just a little leery of going in there. It looks like someone is watching from that top back window.

The last b/w Hitchcock film, and perhaps the last great Hitchcock film.

at first I was doubtful that this was the last great Hitchcock filmā€¦..then I looked at the filmography and to me, the only movies

after that that were fairly good were ā€˜The Birdsā€™ (unsatisfactory ending)

ā€˜Marnieā€™ ( Interesting psychological drama but a distracting and inappropriate music score)

    ā€˜Torn Curtainā€™ (great castā€”dubious story quality)

so, I must say, Psycho WAS the last great Hitchcock film.

I will agree with you, Nighthawks! This was the last great Hitchcock mystery! This is one scary movie! By the master himself.

Now, talking about the master and mistressā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦Stel, you are the best. It took a while for my computer to kick in the flashing lights. Nice touch. And, Mama staring out the window. Butā€¦ā€¦.I took Dennisā€™ advice and enlarged your poster and saw the front window curtain move! How clever!

I liked Marnie & The Birds. Torn Curtain was okay, but I thought Hitchcockā€™s last film, Family Plot, was better. None of those films surpassed Psycho.

Torn Curtain did have some memorable scenes, like the bus scene, but the movie as a whole was a letdown.

Stel, there must have been an awful lot of work went into that flashing motel sign. I donā€™t know where Iā€™d even start to produce something like that!
