He also has a message that says the 200 pounds of kibble is on the way to their house and Claude has no more money in his account.

Aha! Claude must’ve bought a whole lot of schstuff in order to fill a cart! Would he still need a cart for just one item? Luckily he doesn’t have to push that wobbly cart up any hills. (Do they have hills in Cleveland?)
