There are certainly worse ways of finding out the dog doesn’t like his food.

Maybe the owner should starve that ungratefull pooch for a day or two, then it might appreciate thoes slops.

Wow! Turning down grilled steaks! These guys are really incorruptible!

He must be saying it tastes like shoe leather.

With this strip in brilliant color, that dog food is really going to leave a stain on the pink carpet! Scooter, some simple gestures might have conveyed your position…

They’ll fetch anything you throw.

Alleycat Capone was so slick….

but he couldn’t tempt the untemptable… couldn’t corrupt the incorruptibles …

I guess he coulda touched the Untouchables… but he couldn’t get them to play ball!

If his brain were as sharp as his clothes, he might’ve thrown a tennis ball when he made that scratching motion with his paw…

That would have been almost impossible for all four dogs to resist…

Then again…. if a big warm, juicy pile of steaks…. mmmm… what was I…. um…. warm, rare…. steaks….

Oh! Excuse me… I got distracted… by the… mmm…. sniff…. sniff….

OK, sorry.

I guess they really earned that sobriquet.

Scooter, meanwhile…. is one of those rare dogs who might not chase a ball.

He’s caught a ball before…. and unless it’s part of a game of baseball or tennis or some such, it really diidn’t do a lot for him.

A steak, however … that’s another thing.

A thing much more suitable for chasing than a do-nothing ball.

And much more suitable food for an apex predator such as himself, than that chicken feed with ersatz gravy that somebody put in his bowl.

I guess it would have been too horrible to watch the untouchables being ripped to shreds by that evil cat, Capone.

There is new competition for Cleo on Sherpa called Fox the Cat. Maybe Cleo can take a visit and together, they can get Sherpa fixed after two years.

Yeah… Can’t see a bassett able to resist the aroma….

Had a Bassett in obedience class that was wonderful on heel. Until someone allowed a hot dog cart at the fun show. She was on a blind heel. Owner turned left, she turned right, went out of the ring and sat in front of the cart.

In her defense, we used hot dog bits as rewards.

Does catnip have the same effect on dogs? Maybe those steaks are laced with catnip. Better watch out, you Untouchables.
