Awwww! This is a nice tribute to that marvelous cathedral. What an incredible piece of history. What a terrible event this last week. Thanks for your commemoration, Stel.
A most timely film to feature, even if it is old. Once again, Victor Hound’s words are called upon to rescue this historic institution.
Charles L’Arfton! Hard to imagine one basset capable of so movingly portraying both the Hunchbasset of Notre Dame and Captain Bligh from Muttiny on the Bounty.

You can tell Cecil is committed (or should be) from his bug beater shirt.

Quasimutto should really watch where he leaves his candles.

Very timely, Stel. But what a tragedy. A real soul-searching event for France.

“The Hunchbasset of Notre Dame” …
A stirring tail, with all the passion and glory, excitement and pathos, you expect from a novel by Victor Hound
brought to life by some of the premier basset talent of its day.
Charles L’arfton, at the height of his powers…. portraying obsession and woe like no other.
Maureen O’Bark…. enchanting as ever, and able to stir the hearts of the most jaded.
Â
And rising above it all, more imposing than mere scenery, the cathedral itself…. an enduring monument to artistic and spiritual vision….
which we see in its glory days, and are reminded of all the energy and effort needed to go into its recovery now….
and the sheer luck by which it was not completely destroyed.
Â
The humans tried in several different ways to copy the poster….
this one is as close as I could find to StelBel’s, but falls short.
They saw the pink colorization of the cathedral, so they colored theirs red…
They didn’t have Maureen O’Bark, so they spoiled it by plastering some human woman all over it, hoping to make her seem as captivating.
