While we still canā¦ I mean, while such food existsā¦.
Shall we head back to the Tiki, where the little monkeys have helped to do a wonderful job of cleaning up, refrigerating leftovers, and generally making everything ship shape again?
Thereās still an abundance of cole slaw, yak ribs, eggs, and other party foodā¦. including birthday cake.
There_are_ always plenty of vegetarian and vegan options there, too, if thatās your thing, you know.
Ā
But if you feel like you spent too many hours there this weekendā¦.
and youād like to start out today with a visit to my bakery, for sandwiches, pie and coffeeā¦..
we could do that instead.
Just let me know.
Ā
Meanwhileā¦. Toddā¦. he sees himself as their godfather, does he?
Well the owners of that stubborn rascal, Scuffy, fussy eater Murphy, and spoiled little Muffin are not too happy about all those afternoon treats.
Ā
It took months to figure out why their dogs didnāt want their dinners,
and theyāve asked over and over for Todd to stop.
But he enjoys what he considers to be his surrogate pets.
How do we convince him heās not doing them any favors?
Ā
Of course, when they complain to Sheriff MonkeyBlues and he suggests that they keep their dogs safe at homeā¦.
What a stick-in-the-mud Claude is! Culinary wimp! Spicy and flavorful doesnāt have to mean spicy hot.
When I was just a little muffin myself, my parents best friends were a trio of Indian MDās and their families. So I got used to eating Indian food as soon as I got an intro to solid food. To this day, it is my favorite cuisine in the world. And Mom was a skilled and inquisitive chef. But any Asian cooking is (potentially) great; Thai, Vietnamese, Burmese, Korean, Mongolian, etc. And āIndianā covers a lot of geography. Every region ā and there are a boatload of āem ā has its own style and characteristics. YUM!
We tried two new restaurants after they were around for a few months. Wonāt go back. Nothing original. Not that that is what Claude is thinking about. Heās just being picky.
(Or, he was heading for that outdoor BBQ joint that letās you bring your dog with you. Poor Cleo has to eat, too.)

Claude, buddy, you have to let your taste buds branch out. There are sooo many good spicy flavors out there if youāll just give them a chance.

Hullo, everybody!
Hi Farsideā¦ and the rest of you when you get hereā¦.
Thanks for your help and attendance yesterdayā¦
and now itās time to talk about
the May 6th Ā 2019 āCLEO and COMPANYāā¦..
Ā
Which looks like a new one to meā¦. see for yourself on Sherpa:
http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy
Ā
I know Iāve been wrong about it beforeā¦ā¦
( Oooops! Did I say that out loud?)But I donāt remember any discussion of spicy cuisinesā¦
or anything as āmetaā as Claude directing attention to a previous panel, which made me laugh.
Ā
I understand about needing to avoid spicy foodā¦. in fact, Iām having to eat less of it than I used toā¦.
but I donāt get the impression thatās Claudeās reason, though it might be his excuseā¦. which is kind of a different thing.
Ā
Noā¦. itās just plain stick-in-the-mud stubbornnessā¦. clinging to the tried and true.
That āMy mama didnāt cook no Pakistani food and I aināt gonna eat noneā¦..ā kind of attitude.
But the world is changing, Claude.
Ā
Iām starting to wonder what restaurants weāll be able to find in 2029.
Iāve only recently realised the gap between my baby-boom dietā¦. even though I do eat all sorts of ethnic food, and love Thaiā¦.
and that of the Millennials, and the Gen Z, young adults, who all live on quinoa, exotic herbs, acai bowls and air.
Oh yeahā¦. and avocado toast, of course.

that goes nowhere either. Sighā¦..

I like that āSee panel 2ā bit. The car in panel 3 looks different from the car in panel 1 (taillights).
I guess Cleo will have to cook up some exotic foods for Claude. He wouldnāt turn Cleo down.
In the midst of the party yesterday, I think the Ballard Street May 5 2009 got overlooked. That was a funny one!

Claude should be ashamed of himself. He just let Clara and Cleo know that they were in a cartoon. Two cows and a chicken are also back.

For someone who so daringly pushes the āDo Not Pushā button, Claude, you are not very adventurous in dining.
